I haven’t done it to be honest, but if you trying to do an idle relearn process on top of an old tune your most likely trying to fix an issue that has happened after the tune 9/10 time the idle is shit you probably have a leak somewhere or the IACV needs to be cleaned/ adjusted/ replaced.

Hey guys, I just wanted to check if I follow the instructions in this video will it reset everything on the commander to how it was originally set up? or will it go back to how it was last tuned/set up? Thanks.

Following the process and selecting ETC you will reset the ecu to what it came with from apexi, any tune that is on the commander will be erased. Pretty much it’s a hard reset.

I know this video is heaps old but can I just plug in someone else's commander to my power FC just to read data? I see the menu shows 'Monitor' which im guessing it will just display info but im new to this. cheers

Yes as long as the commander is compatible, there are 2 version 1) the green back ground black font 2) the OLED type. I am not to entirely sure if the OLED is compatible with the older power FC.

For the idol relearn do you need to adjust for larger injectors first?

Unfortunately I believe the idle relearn process pertains to a stock setup, as larger injector would have more flow would have to be properly tuned.

Mike Rodriguez at the time this video was made, i was still stock with the exception of FMIC/Greddy BOV/GREDDY PROFEC set to 12 psi/ Apexi base time did just fine.

wrench-a-holics lastly how long did you drive with your base map? And would you recommend tuning the ECU? Or would an SR be okay with the base map for the mean time?

Mike Rodriguez currently I’m am still on a base tune. If you plan on beating the hell out of it, I would recommend getting a tune, out the box the base tune will keep the car as close to 14.7 on your wide band. Under boost you’d want to be a little richer than that.

wrench-a-holics I see but can’t you just turn up the fuel pressure? And what state are you located at? I’m here in SoCal and I’ve been trying to find a tuner that tunes the Apexi PFC

Mike Rodriguez in in SoCal as well, simply turning up the fuel pressure would be just that, but a tune would reconfigure your entire fuel map. There’s a couple of shops up north that tune the POWER FC. email me I can send you some of those shops

By chance would you know of a Power FC pinout diagram. I believe I have an older Power FC for a S14 Zenki ECU connector. I've looked but can't find a thing.

ryuruben power FC are pretty much the replacement over stock. The pin out is exactly the same since you still connecting the POWER FC to stock wiring harness. Pretty much what your looking for is the stock oem ecu pinout. Email me Savageones.us@gmail.com I’ll send you that.

Hello I also installed my Power FC with tons of modification! Did you have it tune? The base tune is not giving me much power?

Currently Im on the base tune. The base tune won't give you any power advantage, from the box the base tune resembles the factory ECU. I haven't gotten to getting a tune as I am going for an E85 tune. So currently I'm converting all my fuel and all associated parts to be compatible for E85.

i tried this but my car wont even idle with the apexi now it cranks, starts, then dies off if you dont give it gas. its also leaning out and my injector duty reads 2% at the most. it has the z32 maf and although it shows the options i cant physically select snd save it or how would i do that?

I believe if you choose any MAF other than the OE MAF you’ll have to get the ECU tuned. I haven’t tried honestly. If you see the z32 maf your in the right place as for saving the settings does the ecu reset after you turn off the car?

I bought it with the car and it needs a tune was told can it be a tune or just adjusting through controller that does that

Since it was on there before and needs a tune as long as you are completely stock you can run and drive the car with the “tune” that comes out the box. Reset the ECU at this point. In all honesty the commander is useless unless you really know what your doing. It’s best to get a dyno tune with a person who is knowledgeable with power FC’s.

I took it to a tunning place and the guy told me it will cost 5k to do because the apexi ecu is old and hard to tune need to switch to haltech my engine and mods should make 300kws is that true there no good the ecu or is he just tying to make a quick buck

Local tuner told me $650-$750 USD but he is know for his abilities to tune power FC, so at 5k that’s pretty steep.

Miyabi Hr31 i would say turn on everything as far as electrical goes .. headlights/blinkers pretty much add electrical load if you have e-fans turn them on as well.

Miyabi Hr31 still have access to OEM ecu? I would check timing CAS/ mechanical timing then switch back to PFC, reset PFC and redo the process. How bad is the haunting ?

@@wrenchaholics thanks! Timing was way off.. 35° and also idle was high. It sits at 800 now with oem back in with adjustment. Also had a leak in my boost sensor vacuum line. Fixed that. Hopefully I can put pfc back in now. Appreciate your input! Idle surge from 750 to 1100 up/down quickly when pfc had finished before . I'll let you know how it goes
