Sorry, I meant the Wrestlemania XSeven one, April 2nd, 2001. They said they had to cover up for people shitting on the Rock because they wanted so much to push the SCSA heel turn instead.
@RALF0691
5 жыл бұрын
That's because The Rock was very over in 2000. So I can see how fans started to wane on The Rock a bit. That's why it was a good move for The Rock to take a few months off in 2001 to film The Scorpion Returns. When Rock came back to WWE in the summer of 2001 he was refreshed and the fans liked him again. But eventually during The Rock's feud with Brock Lesnar the fans turned on The Rock again. Then soon afterwards that's when Rock turned heel into Hollywood Rock.
@GorditoCrunch343

@@RALF0691 WM 17 should have ended with Austin stunning McMahon, no dumb heel turn. I think they should have started the Rock heel turn earlier, right when he came back in the summer of 01. Have him talk down to the fans and basically do all the Hollywood heel stuff then they could build to Austin vs Rock rematch with Rock going over at Summerslam/Survivor Series, then do a big blowoff match for WM 18. It would have also helped keep both Austin and Rock fresh for the rest of 2002/2003 where they can help build new stars.
