This is top shelf material! I've spent way, way, too long learning about this subject, and it blows my mind how little time people dedicate to learning about the sounds of words. Hopefully this video has inspired your viewers to deep dive the subject...the rabbit hole is extremely deep.

I don't know if it makes all the difference, but I'm comfortable saying it makes 99% 😆

Yes!! I’ve recently started to read out loud (with a dictionary at hand to aid in pronunciation and definition) and it has improved not only my understanding of my reading but also my enjoyment.

Another amazing video!🤓 I love many styles of poetry, but as a writer, I belong to the ol' 'Music above all' school of thought, as we say in Portuguese. The way singers speak of vowel quality, articulation, tone, lightness, darkness, murkiness, brightness of sounds when sung, as well as transitions, emphasis, and other nuances, should be applied to poetry writing far more often. As Tolkien once said, it goes way beyond merely reckoning alliteration and assonance."

Thanks--I'm stealing that line, too (what is it in Portuguese?)

@@WritingwithAndrew Música antes de tudo - lit. "music before (of) everything else" 🙂 I keep referring to Portuguese comparisons as a reminder that your excellent work is appreciated beyond the English-speaking sphere!⭐

That's why linguistic knowledge is just as important as literary knowledge. This is a great video.
