I'm working on my first proper book, not the cringey wattpad ones, a proper romance, binging these is my motivation

9:10 I love that he brought up some of the best crime shows when he talks about characters and soup.

Those are police procedurals, not crime shows, and they're basically all awful. But different strokes, I guess.

9:42 I feel like i accidentally did this in my book! The main character has horrible self-worth issues (because trauma) while the love interest is really entitled. Obviously, these are character flaws, but they mesh really well when you put the characters together. The main character can teach the live interest to be a little more respectful and down to earth, while the love interest can teach the main character to love herself. I didn't plan it like that, but it works! 😆

at 2:15 …. that girl seems like she’s never written a day in her life, and when she starts her entire life is gonna get turned upside down. Her organization is gonna get turned upside down real quick 😂 I envy the innocence. That is a problem that most writers face…. lack of organization….. right?

Honestly writing for me is not so... Aesthetic for me. Its typing on my phone, throwing random ideas, and just doing whatever i can to get the story done. Eh.

agree, some people just "try" to make it look like it's aesthetic and easy when it's laterlly hectic. (if that makes any sense)

@@EurikReads it makes perfect sense! I wish I could be so organized but my writing doesn't allow it lol

I can't imagine there's a single universe where fan fiction is better written than real books, like seriously!?

@@nesnibila4888 How are you going to do that? You don't even know what shows or games I like. You make it sound like I can ask you for anything and you've got one waiting in the wings. If I wanted a list of fanfic recommendations from TV Tropes or Reddit, I could just look there. You're saying you have a personal encyclopedic repository of quality fan fictions so vast, and so well written, you can assure me that you can _personally_ recommend at least one thing I will be blown away by, and possibly more than one?

what?? like its bad for them? in what way

@@Verbayuk There's like an 80% chance they're saying it's bad advice from bad writers that only other bad writers will find useful. This is really not true of the one about how romance writers should give their love interests opposing and complementary strengths, as contrast is always a good idea frankly - in all forms of art.
