@#QAndMarco, Surinam Horned Frogs are kept as pets, and are almost never used for human consumption. Plus they cost way too much to raise be used as a food source anyways.

You ppl do know, the frogs live much longer in an enclosure like this than in the wild? They only live 1-4 years or so in wild.

Might get three square meals in a house with good owners. Might go several days to weeks without food in the alley. Also climate control in a house. How much room do you really need anyway right. ☺️☺️☺️

whats wrong with keeping them this way? oh the foam? breeders/wholesalers use foam and its fine. you cant keep a mass collection on dirt and think its going to be easy
@acousticanimal5514

No animal deserves to be kept this way.. It has no way to express its natural behaviour in this tank. Who said you have to keep a mass collection when you can't take proper care for the animals?
@KnucklesReptiles

OK so what's their natural behavior? these frogs literally don't move that much. the animals aren't in bad health how can you say he can't take care off them. but I'm done you obviously aren't understanding keeping many a once.
@acousticanimal5514
7 жыл бұрын
KnucklesReptiles They do burry themselves in nature? Physical health doesn't say that much about the care.. you could keep a leopard gecko in a shoe box and he probably wouldn't show any decreasing in physical health. Ah wait, just forgot, there are already people doing that, they're called racks. 😂 And you seem to have no idea who I am, don't you? If you did, you'd talk differently. I probably keep more animals than you, if this is of so much value for you. ;)
@tehhron

If the argument is that these enclosures don't satisfy their natural behavior then you're wrong. These frogs feel secure when their body is covered by substrate, fully or partially. There are two sections of foam in each container, allowing the frog to back up into them making them feel secure. If they were stressed or felt exposed they would constantly try to dig. You would hear frog legs scraping plastic and see torn up foam in each container. But you don't. Because the frogs are. Just. Fine.

Tiny cages with no enrichment, as well as mice, which are a poor diet for these frogs. -10/10 rating from me
