Stray Kids let's go!!! They are a phenomenal group. Considered the little brothers of Twice (especially Bang Chan, the leader, since he grew up with the members and is close with the J-line, especially Sana). Brothers to Itzy (they love to tease each other), and big brothers of NMIXX (especially Bang Chan and Felix with Lily since they are all Aussies). You can actually see Lily as a trainee in their survival show and Twice makes an appearance first episode to wish Bang Chan good luck. The young women dancing in God's Menu are actually members of NiziU prior to their debut. Felix featured on Nayeon's song "No Problem" and Bang Chan was the male vocal in Tzuyu's Melody Project cover of "Me". Bang Chan was also one of the zombies in Twice's M/V "Like Ooh-Aah" when he was a trainee. Bang Chan is also long time friends with Lisa from BP. Stray Kids are self-produced with 3 of the members, Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han, as the producer unit, known collectively as 3RACHA. They've written almost every single song in the SKZ discography. The songs that they did not write were written by the other members. Not only have they written their own music, they've written for other artists, including NiziU. The song "Paradise" which was for the new Doraemon movie was written by 3RACHA. Bang Chan was also the vocal director in the studio working with the NiziU members during recording. I would say the boy group sphere is just a diverse as the girl groups. 4th Gen boy groups tend to skew harder in sound and style, but there are also plenty of brighter concepts (Stray Kids themselves really just go wherever they want musically depending on what they are interested in). For your auto-tune question, some songs use it heavily, some not at all, and some sit in the middle. Because SKZ produce, they often incorporate filters and other sound effects to create unique works. From how Bang Chan talks about production, I'd say they use their voices more like instruments within the production rather than just singing/rapping on top of beats. I would recommend going down the SKZ rabbit hole - they have a LOT of music to choose from (currently over 170 songs). Some very popular songs to start: Thunderous (NMIXX did an amazing cover of this song) Back Door Venom The View Scars (Japanese) - I'd recommend watching The First Take live version to hear their live vocals Case 143 Levanter Topline (ft. legendary K-rapper Tiger JK) Sending you good vibes from Stayville! (Fandom name is Stay)

@@NeonReactionsPierreI have little to add to this in depth comment, but as song suggestion I would add S Class since it's their most recent comeback title song and hits hard too, and they have a japanese comeback September 2nd with a j-rock flavoured song, Social Path, that is pretty hard as well. Little thing to know choreo wise: since they write and produce their songs themselves, the producing unit 3Racha often sends the song during its composition to the dance unit Danceracha. So the choreography is built hand in hand with the production step, and they both serve to directly connect with the lyrics and support them.

They definitely are known for their hard hitting (sometimes oddball and off the wall) sound. They even made an album called NoEasy (a play on the word noisy) bc they were constantly being told they didn’t make music they made “noise.” They have a bunch of all-rounders and are self-produced. Definitely suggest checking them out! *Their most recent album is 5 Star, probably their best album yet*

[really LONG comment incoming I'm sorry I got carried away] Stray Kids quickly became my favorite group of all time but also my intro to boy groups, after I listened to them for the first time two years ago. I was also a girl group only listener so I'm glad you checked them out!! They really changed my pre-existing opinion on boy groups. I started listening to other boy groups thanks to them, but I haven't been able to find a group that compares to Stray Kids honestly. The group has 8 members (From oldest to youngest: Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, I.N) with no set positions (e.g main rapper, main dancer etc...) meaning that they all can sing, rap and dance. Of course, there are things that each member likes doing more, but having no set positions means that they are free to do what they want. But what makes them stand out in my opinion, is the fact that they are completely self produced! They have written 99.999% of their discography, have participated in composing their songs, and even the arrangements! The leader, Bang Chan (the one with the chains on his face in this MV) is the one who picked the members. He trained for 7 long years and the company trusted him a lot. So all 8 members have a very strong family-like bond and can't be seperated for more than a day 😅 They debuted in 2018 but didn't really blow up until 2020 with God's Menu. That song was what they described as their "beginning", since they had finally found their identity as a group and the kind of music they enjoyed making/performing. Because they are self produced, and because they love what they do so much, we get a lot of solo/unit songs from them. These days we've been getting new solos almost every week (usually means that a group comeback is coming soon with them). Their discography is HUGE. They have 12 albums (13th is on the way later this year) excluding their Japanese releases, and they don't have a set genre. They have tried anything from hip hop, to edm, rock, softer ballads, etc... The first 3 members that joined the group are Bang Chan, Changbin (first rapper in God's Menu) and Han (second rapper). The three of them actually formed a group pre Stray Kids debut named "3racha" (pronounced Three Racha). 3racha is now an official sub-unit of Stray Kids and if you check the credits on almost all Stray Kids songs, you will see that name witten all over. And it is because they are the main producers of the group. They have written, composed and arranged (with the help of other JYP producers) every title track and almost every b-side excluding solos or units of the other 5 members who have written those songs. God's Menu specifically is a song about the fact that they make their own music, how unique it is, and how they experiment a lot with their sound. It's also about how even if someone says they don't like them that will keep on coming back because their songs are addicting. They have gotten a lot of criticism over the years for their music being "noise music" and "construction music", which is why they are in a construction site in the MV. They actually have a lot of soft melodic songs, but their title tracks have mostly been hard hitting, intense songs so people assume their entire discography is like that. Since God's Menu's success, a lot of Kpop producers have been asked by companies to make songs similar to it. Which is why people associate boy groups to this type of sound now. But honestly, I don't think anyone has been able to pull it off as well as Stray Kids. And they never stop experimenting, meaning that they will always bring something new to the table which I haven't seen a lot of boy groups do these days honestly. Their unique identity, and music style really set them apart as a group and is the reason why they are now so successful. Their latest album "5-STAR" which came out in June, was the most pre-ordered album in Kpop history with 5.1 MILLION units worldwide. It also was their third album in a row to rank #1 in the US. The fandom, named "STAY" has gotten a lot bigger since God's Menu. And finally, the guy with the deep voice! His name is Felix and everyone gets surprised by it the first time they hear it lol! His voice has a lot of range. He can lower it a LOT, but he also can pull off some higher notes. His falsetto is absolutely beautiful when he sings! This comment is loooong, so I will stop now 😅Sorry if it was all over the place. But I hope it was helpful, and if you want recommendations and if you have any questions, I will be more than happy to help! The best guide to watch if you wanna get to know them is the 2023 guide by channel 'Teanosuga'. It has a lot of song snippets, but it's the best guide out there atm. It's quite long (about an hour) but so worth the watch in my opinion.

i have been a girl group fan since the very beginning of my kpop journey, and stray kids has been the ONLY boy group that had caught my attention like girl groups always had. they continue to be my only exception when it comes to boy groups for over two years since discovering them. stray kids is a one of a kind group. there are boy groups who try to do what stray kids does and it just doesn’t work like how they make it work. some boy groups definitely go really hard, and i can appreciate good music when i hear it, but in my opinion, no one can come close to stray kids in the boy group category and ESPECIALLY not in the 4th gen boy group category. there are 8 members and they completely write, compose, and arrange all of their music with little to no outside influence/help. reactions to felixs voice never gets old😭 and no matter how long you’ve been listening, you never get used to it. 3racha (producer line consisting of bang chan, changbin, and han) LOVE autotune😭 i was never a fan of excessive autotune until stray kids and while it does take a minute to get used to, over time you will learn to love it (almost!) as much as they do. they dont use it in every song, but its a stylistic choice they utilize often. getting into stray kids was one of the best decisions of my life. i have absolutely no regrets and i hope you continue to dive into them and get to know them and their music better. they are a group of 8 incredible, kind, and talented guys. you will not regret getting into them.

Subbed for more Stray Kids! They're truly the best, especially if you enjoy harder music. I've seen other comments break down 3Racha, the producing sub-unit of "SKZ" (Stray Kids). 3Racha pre-existed SKZ, they released music separately starting in 2017 before Bang Chan aka Chris selected the other members for Stray Kids. They were pretty young (16, 17, and 19 in international age) but their early talent is so evident in that music and a lot of snippets from 3Racha songs later developed into Stray Kids releases, and some were just remastered and re-released by the group fully. Stray Kids were introduced to the public through a survival show by the same name. The mv and song Hellevator is pre-debut, from the survival show. They originally debuted as a 9 member group on March 25, 2018 with the song and mv District 9. A year and a half later, one member left the group, and Stray Kids moved forward as an 8 member group releasing their 7th EP Cle: Levanter in December 2019. In June 2020 they released God's Menu and started finally receiving a fraction of the popularity growth they deserved. Stray Kids' unique and signature sound earned them a "genre" unto their own termed mala taste. They've continued to release music prolifically, and 2023 has been huge for them including the conclusion of their Maniac world tour, their Japanese album release The Sound, their recent and hugely successful album release 5-Star, a Japanese/Korean dome tour happening now, a Japanese EP called Social Path being released in 11 days on Sept 6th, and an expected additional Korean release later this year.

Stray Kids are great. They have their own unique sound, never the same from song to song but always recognizably theirs, and a huge discography, with hundreds of songs out, not all to everyone's taste, but all well crafted. They love to use autotune for effect, the more I listen to them, the more I really appreciate how they use the autotune--they don't need it to keep on key, they use it to warp and distort and add all sots of interesting effects. They do have plenty of songs without autotune, and have done several live performances singing some of their ballads and more melodic songs which are usually free of autotune, since those effects don't really add to most ballads. Three of the members (who go under the unit name 3Racha) write and produce almost all their output aside from some solos and covers. Because they know their own members so well, they are able to tailor their music to fit them in a way that non-affiliated producers would have a hard time doing. They are also masterful collaborators, not only working well together but also teaming with many well known producers, from JYP in-house staff to those internationally known, although they always have final artistic control. This is probably one of the reasons they have such a wide variety of sounds and styles, since they encourage input from their co-producers, yet always make sure with their own input that the final product sounds like theirs. They put out lots of content showing behind-the-scenes footage of 3Racha running recording sessions, etc. In the early days there were usually other producers or staff running the sessions, but for the last several years it has been clearly the Skz members in charge. If you watch the competition series Kingdom: Legendary war, there is also a small segment where several of the competing teams had to join together and you can see how 3Racha work with other artists, as well--you can look up the behind the scenes bits for Mayfly Rap Unit to see them collaborate with Honjoong from Ateez and Minhyuk from BTOB. Next-listen suggestions: for the harder side, (from more or less most recent to older) try S-Class, Freeze, Venom, Maniac, Domino (no MV, check out the dance practice, absolutely fab), Thunderous, Easy (not so many views but one of my favorites) Side Effects, Victory Song, Double Knot, District 9 and Hellevator. I'm also very fond of the early Beware: Song of Grrrr and Yayaya, although they are not as professional (they were made during their pre-debut survival show). For great hip hop in a '90's flavor,, try Topline, for a bit of R&B sound in the mix, try Back Door. For incredibly intense songs that hit hard on meaning and have some good rhythm, check out their First Take live studio performances of Slump, Mixtape: OH, and Scars. Most kpop boy groups are not quite so hard as Stray Kids, the ones I would look at for a harder sound would be NCT 127 or NCT U (try Fire Truck, Kick It, Lemonade, Two Baddies One Porsche), Monsta X, (Gambler, Love Killa, Beautiful Liar). BTS definitely has some very hard-hitting work especially in their early days, Stray Kids would probably not have been able to go as hard if BTS hadn't gone there first--try MIc Drop (Steve Aoki Remix), Burning Up/Fire, Dope, or On for the best dance MV ever. Some people like MCND, and PHarmony is pretty tough. You could also try KARD, which is a mixed group, boys and girls, I've heard some good harder songs from them. I'm mainly a Stray Kids fan so this is not necessarily the most complete or best list.....

This was the song that brought me in to the whole world of k-pop about 18 months ago after I had previously been a strict blink for 3 years prior. This was the first Stray kids song that brought me in, but Thunderous won my heart over. Now 18 months later I still love everything from Blackpink, but Stray kids and Ateez have absolutely won over my heart and soul. Stray kids do like to use a decent amount of autotune for effect, but they are all very talented vocalists who don't need it. Stray kids have a massive discography, so if you decide to continue don't be overwhelmed. Some suggestions to start after this, maniac, thunderous, case 143, the sound, circus, back door, s class, miroh, topline, lonely st. and so many more. Literally Stray kids have over 150 songs and all of them are amazing. There are many great boy groups, but like I said earlier Ateez is the second boy group that stole my heart, if you are interested in checking them out too my 5 favourite videos from them are Halazia, Answer, Turbulence, Guerrilla, and Fireworks (I'm the one).

Loved your reaction. I have come from a BG slant and only now looking at some GG. SKZ are my ulimate group and interestingly, you are not the only GG stan I've come across who started their BG journey with SKZ. Not sure what it is about them that draws GG stans in but, hey, it must be their uniqueness. God's Menu is actually the song that set them on their fast upward trajectory. If you do start a deeper dive, you've a LOT of music to catch up up. They are prolific and their recent June comback 5 Star is amazing. Anyway, just ask Stays what type of music you'd like to hear from SKZ and they'll let you know. Whilst they have a lot of high enery and rap, they also have some very beautiful melodic songs and ballads. Enjoy!

YAY Stray Kids!! They do use autotune sometimes, but not as often as many other groups. It's usually for affect, rather than vocal correction. The guy with the deep voice is Felix. He has a very versatile voice.....he can sing deep bass (seriously DEEP), mid range for ballads and high falsetto. He also has a very distinct, raspy, growly voice he uses when he raps. Felix and the group leader Bang Chan are both from Australia. They are both fluent in Korean, but they do often sing in English, too.

In the past few weeks, they’ve released Can’t Stop the Party as a gift to Stay (their fandom) for our birthday, Super Bowl (Japanese version) m/v - the original on 5 star was fully English, and three solos on Skz-record Hold On by Seungmin, Contradicting by Hyunjin and Miserable by Han. Just finished the video, I enjoyed it a lot and I'll make sure to stick around for your Stray Kids journey! :)) I also find it really cool how you're taking time to respond to all these comments! As many previous comments stated, Stray Kids are self produced! They really and I mean REALLY care about the messages they send across and they want to try making many kinds of music in all kinds of genres. They have some of the most experimental songs I've ever heard (Tortoise and the hare, 3rd eye, etc)! They do rock, they do pop, they do hiphop, they do ballads, they do edm, and much more! To get a glimpse of their talent in live vocals/rap you should check out the First Take performances, especially Scars, Slump & Mixtape:OH and also their performances on Kingdom (like "I'll be your man")! I heard you're gonna do the 2023 longer guide? Can't wait! :) It has a lot of spoilers tho, hopefully you don't mind that!

I'm going to leave a list I give to baby Stay (STAY are the fandom for Stray Kids, if no one has said that yet) when they discover Stray Kids. Stray kids do have a story line of sorts. I'm going to leave it for you. I'm going to include some songs I think are part of the story, but not quite. I'll put them in brackets. And yes. The trailers & teasers I list are needed for the story. Hellevator isn't needed, but it is very important for people to watch. And parts of it are seen through out the story line. Hellevator is actually a song Stray kids wrote while taking part in the survival show that allowed them to debut from trainees to Idols. The lyrics have some pretty deep impact. Oh. And a side note that might not have been explained to you. When Stray Kids first debut, they were a 9 member group. One person (Woojin) left after a bit over a year & a half. Him leaving created a huge mess because they were preparing for a come back & had to push it back to rework everything without him, so we don't really talk about him. To me, he WAS part of SKZ, but is no longer. So even in the old stuff when I see him, I don't really count him. But you will see him in older videos. He was present till Double Knot, and that's the last of him being in the videos. (Hellevator) I Am Not trailer District 9 (Mirror could go here, but it's not completely in the story line) Voices Grow Up My pace I Am You Victory Song Performance Video Miroh Cle 2: Yellow Wood trailer Side Effects Teaser 1 Side Effects Double Knot (Astronaut is technically next, but it's also a split in the story line again. The group from this one end up in space & go on to the song TOP where they have a conclusion of a sorts for their story. So their path is up to Double Knot, then Astronaut, and finally TOP. The main story skips this, and goes on to Levanter Trailer.) Cle: Levanter Trailer Levanter Go Live Trailer Stray Kids Prequel: Highlight Reel Gods Menu In Life Trailer Back Door I think that's the end of the official story line. Stray Kids consider Gods Menu as their new beginning, and the story shows it. After that, they take many different routs in their story & music. I still highly suggest checking out their album trailers. They started making them into mini movies. There is also a mini story that covers several albums. It's about a group of school friends who start a film club. Then feelings & drama happen. I'll leave that list too. Mixtape: On Track Unveil track: "B Me" Mixtape: OH The View I hope this helps.

@@NeonReactionsPierre Have fun with the list. And when I say a trailer/teaser are part of the story line, I mean it. They help bridge the gaps between major songs, and fill in info. And so many people miss them because they aren't songs. Oh. And I will give you a heads up. For their Japanese songs, there are normally no subtitles. So you will probably need to look up colour coded lyric videos. And sometimes they get who's singing wrong. But you at least get the lyrics. Japanese title tracks are: Scars All In Circus The Sound And their newest Japanese song is coming out soon, called Social Path (Featuring liSA)

I'm going to restrain myself for now - I have an urge to info dump, but I won't - but to answer the question about auto tune, no, they don't use it that much, but they use it strategically for effect and fun. Trust me when I say literally not one of them NEEDS auto tune. They're all incredible singers, rappers, dancers, etc. They write and produce almost all their content and their leader, Bang Chan, is the youngest member in the top 10 of KOMCA. He and two of the others have a subunit production team, 3Racha, and they write, produce, and compose 99% of SKZ's songs. All three of them have over 100 songs credited to their names and are all full members of KOMCA. 3RAcha has also written and produced for other groups in the industry as well. The member with the deep voice is Felix. Welcome to the Felix Effect. :P Anyway, they're my ult group in all of K-Pop, regardless of gender, and they have never missed for me. I don't know if you plan to check out more of their things, but a) you should and b) there's no missing with them.

I don't know if you have listened to Black Pink, but Stray Kids does a mashup version of God's Menu and Black Pink's Dududu du (however that's spelled). It's a live performance and it's amazing.

Blackpink and Dreamcatcher were the ones that got me hooked on kpop back in 2016/early 2017. Blink and Insomnia to the core. I did not know about SKZ doing a mashup though.... that will be interesting! Thank you

Thank you so much. I really appreciate that! So, currently I am following a storyline of Stray Kids videos ... I'm on the seventh video so far. And I've done a few "excursions" from that storyline because of specific performances on A2K where the contestants performed two songs of theirs and I was told to watch the vid before I watch the show so I can judge them better... Well... anyway.. next two songs on the list are My pace - and - I Am You. Nice to have you here!

Fun fact - Stray Kids are huge fans of Dreamcatcher and Bangchan watches and sings along to their MVs in some of his live videos. ❤ I only listened to Dreamcatcher for the longest time and was not really interested in other kpop groups until I saw Stray Kids. Now they are exclusively the only two kpop groups I listen to. 😂 So excited to go on the Stray Kids journey with you.

Wow, I really like your reaction! I could see how you was shocked to see amazing Stray Kids. I guess, you are into choreography as you were so impressed of dance routine. Stray kids are one of the best dancers in the industry for sure. You might like to check out there dance practices: Easy, Domino, Maniac. Hyunjin has amazing Studio Choom, Artist of the month performance. It is mesmerizing! As this is your first boys group, I am glad is Stray Kids, very good start. The next stop, in my opinion, should be Seventeen. They are mind blowing, the kings of synchronizations, very difficult and unusual choreography: Don't wanna cry, Super, Hot, Rock with you, 24 hrs., Fear. I hope you will explore more K-pop boys group as there are so many talented people to admire.

I just stumbled across you because you are reacting to Stray Kids and I really hope your journey with them will be a long one. One thing I will suggest - it is always worthwhile paying attention to their lyrics. A lot of their songs have meaning behind them (and a whole lot of clever wordplay that sadly doesn't translate to English) and I think it deepens the enjoyment. There is so much to watch in their videos, I think it's impossible to focus on lyrics in the first watch-through! Definitely watch a second time for lyrics, though. I personally enjoy hearing people talk about them, but even if you do it on your own time I think it will make you appreciate them even more. Obviously, not all of their songs have deep meaning but they delve into things like mental health (Secret Secret and Silent Cry are two that immediately pop to mind) loneliness, loss, being yourself... A lot of their albums in their first two years were dominated by themes of growing up, discovering who you are, and not living to other people's expectations. They were all teenagers when they started, other than the leader Bangchan, who turned 20 around the time of the reality show. They were already writing all of their songs. Bangchan chose each of the members personally and the reality show was to prove to JYP that they were each ready to debut. There used to be a 9th member, Woojin, who left the group in 2019 for personal reasons. In any videos from their first year and a half you will see another vocalist, so don't be confused!😅 He has a great voice and now does solo work with another agency, though his type of music isn't really for me. Have fun exploring Stray Kids!

Thank you so much... I will get into the lyrics as far as I can. Its nice to see that they go into more mature themes.
