+Game Derps In that particular race (2nd to last in the championship), Tracy (2nd in the championship, 4th in the race, DeFerran, the championship leader was out of the race early) was battling with Servia (no where near a championship), because Servia had actually cut a chicane earlier in the lap and was supposed to give back positions, not only to Tracy, but several other drivers. Instead he decided to battle with Tracy, and essentially took Tracy not only out of the race, but the championship as well.

According to the team, that was a misunderstanding on the part of the media. They actually told Servia to pass Da Matta because _Da Matta_ was leaving the team after that season and it wouldn't matter.

Love this series. That highlight clip of Servia and Tracy's accident at Surfers in 2000, the reporter was wrong. Wells told Servia that Cristiano da Matta, his teammate who was right in front of him on a late restart, was racing elsewhere (namely, Newman-Haas Racing as Michael Andretti's replacement when he moved to Team Green) in 2001 and for Oriol to do what he had to do to get past. Wells wanted to keep Servia for 2001 (which is what he said when he was interviewed after Servia and Andretti were in a big wreck in the finale in Fontana a couple weeks later), but PPI Motorsports shut down their Champ Car effort to focus on the NASCAR Winston Cup team (plus they'd lost their sponsorship to Mo Nunn Racing for 2001). Another standout clip was the tangle between Bruno Junqueria and Christian Fittipaldi 2001 Cleveland race, Paul or Parker one mentions that it blocked Max Wilson's pit. Max only ran CART that year and wasn't a big factor except that very race - he happened to be the leader at the time and Junqueira's car being in his pit box kept him from being able to make his stop when he tried to, costing him a ton of time and ruining his shot at a great finish (not sure he could have beat eventual winner Dario Franchitti or Memo Gidley, who was the dominant driver on the day, though).

I don't think Indy Car should've ever changed the cars from the DW12 to what it is now. The DW12 was perfect. Smooth car that provided some good racing that didn't hurt to many people while not even 1 year in the current car has killed a mam (yes, even though it did end Darios career, but Houston was a ridiculous track. Something was bound to happen)

Noah Carmichael Except for the fact that they're barely different. It's still the same chassis, suspension, etc, just with more winglets. These bodies were planned from the start, but weren't implemented until this last year to let the teams get used to it. It's not a "new car" if it's what the car was originally intended to be. Different, yes. New, no

Today's Indy car is pretty good, but I miss the Target cars (in NASCAR too) and the Marlboro Penske cars. Fuck political correctness, I want to see good sponsors again! And if people want to smoke themselves, let them! And most of all I miss Paul Tracy because that wild man was funny to hear in interviews and usually just let the floodgates of language fly.
