“Podcast”. I remember when it was called “radio”.

Unfortunately, radio implies "broadcast" over "airwaves" so yeah different term. The term "Podcast" is pretty deceptive too, however, implying an iPod is used (which is how this all got started).

Beautiful! I loved the whole interview. I wish my life had gone another way,....I became a visual artist, and I had much success with it, but my inner me now in retrospect, wished I had been directed towards acting. I self directed myself toward costume design, and I got to become characters for parties with friends, but I never went further with it. My mom helped me become an artist, and follow my dreams to do as much as I could with it. Had she nudged towards acting,...I think I would have really blossomed,...gained more confidence. I did get to perform before my students I taught, at various colleges. But even then, I didn't make that my living. Instead I became a studio artist, working away from people, then being in exhibits.

@@garibaldi54 Yes, I agree. I tried working in an office and a factory during my Summer months, when I wasn't in college or graduate school. I wasn't cut out to do that kind of work. Office work,..I was a total failure at. The factory jobs I held, gave me insight into those kinds of jobs. None allowed me to express my creative thinking. I did find I could kind of manage it, because many factories have a "2nd shift", which fit better with my lifestyle. But the work was mindless, boring, repetitive.

Good interview. Did Kristen Wiig abruptly end the interview when Marc started talking about cartoons having sex? It seemed like a bit of a quick exit to me, for an interview that up until then had flowed very nicely.

There's a slightly weird vibe where, each time she mentions "I was, uhh, hanging out with older guys, and, uhh, booze, and, uhh, I got my tongue pierced," Maron swoops in for details, and she absolutely won't discuss it. Partly her fault for being standoffish, but, gee, after the second or third time, you'd think Marc would get the hint and veer off.

@@sskoog turned this interview off after 19 minutes, creepy dirty old man vibes...first female interview i've heard him do..FAIL . guess I'm sensitive, most guys prolly aren't catching it. It's not blatant from the little i caught, but cringy enough for me.

@@NativeIntelligenceCheckMyDJmix Yes. And 12 minutes before this comment, you're posting down below "I knew, before I even listened to it, that it was gonna be creepy." I do believe Maron is drifting inappropriate here, but your own story isn't even consistent. Perhaps "sensitive" isn't the right word for what you're manifesting.

@@sskoog i mean everyone is entitled to their opinion. i certainly am not powerful enough to manifest anything that already happened 5 years ago lol...my comment was not pre planned. i had a feeling that came over me before hitting play...i could have been wrong and it could have been just another great interview, but it wasn't , it was weird and was making me uncomfortable so i shut it down...expressed my distaste... end of story.... so i thought. You can express ur take on my opinion cause it's a free country, but don't talk to me about my own sensitivity when I'm clearly hearing perverted vibes in what is supposed to be a professional interview.

Years later I'm catching up on all these great Maron interviews....Up until this point I've only heard Marc interview men..mostly it's been intriguing tho he is quite annoying sometimes...mostly really good tho......Something was telling me before I even started this interview that it was gonna be creepy, and fukin sure enough straight out the gate, super cringy...i'm seriously struggling to get thru this interview. he hasn't said anything COMPLETELY inappropriate but there is a thick vibe of "dirty old man" in his voice, yuck...it sucks cause i really wanna know about Kristen Wiig without the overtone of breathing and grunts and super weird questioning...I'm only 19 minutes in and I don't know if i can unpause and go back in...Luckily Kristen seems like she can handle anything. He's acting very different from any male interview ive heard...not liking this at all. i hope this is just a one off and or that in the 5 years since this took place he has changed his female interviewing vibe.
