I know this song is about religious guilt, and I know it's "incorrect", but, ever since I first heard it as a teenager my intuition was to interpret the lyrics as negative forces, be it bad karma, mistakes you made, or just being fucked up in some way mentally, taking away the pieces of you and your life that keep you going, friendships, relationships, work, your confidence, social life, every day interests. Ending up where you never thought you could. And the "hopeful upbeat" piano (or whatever it is, could be a guitar with effects) getting louder and growing in its progression on the last chorus as he brings in his voice without distortion, something about it just gives a sense of "pushing through". Not the best at articulating it, and personal interpretations are usually pretty cringe but I appreciate the "real meaning" behind the song just as much. Either way this is probably Wumpscut's best song and it helped me through lots of hard times.

Jesus Christ is often described by his followers to be "a perfect human". Humanity crucified that. Tortured and killed that. For nothing more than their ego. They sacrificed a man to their ego, for they felt he had slain theirs and thus "correction" needed to occur. We were okay with killing a person like that back then, because we read a book that finally explained who he truly was to us.

@Dead Ryan - It's not " Reese's Puffs " in the lyrics, actually it's " Wreath of barbs " referring to when Pontius Pilatus the governor of Judea sentenced Heysus to death for his crime. Also let's not forget the spear which some Roman threw at Heysus is that correct? I sort of doubt a spear or Iron rod could 'kill a divine being' right? As per the definitions 100% human - easy to kill, 100% 'divine' impossible to kill, 50%/50% still possible to kill however was he that? Or just some scammer? And if the spear is still in existence... which it probably is... it has no special anything attached to it. Why? Heysus was a human, a spear killed a human, thus not of any particular significance, the spear. Only myths, just like Buddhists attach myths to objects and sell them for $1 million USD. Ok, fast forward 2000 years, there's these songs called Dr. Todt and Wreath of barbs..., what are they about? Is it about that a lot of the National-Socialists in the 1930's were Catholics & Christians ? --- And... is there anything 'black' or 'anti-Christian' behind my comment? Such as Judaism, or Buddha? No, I don't affiliate with those 2, and there's no " hate " per se. I'm just laying facts on the table. --- And if someone thinks this comment is 'disrespectful', is that so? No, as I care about the planet and/or future i.e. truth, not myself, ..understand it? And also as I see a lot of laziness, selfishness, abuse of power, abuse of accrediations, whimsical attitudes, a lot of 'fun', then I have some obligations like " Ok they're not doing anything at all... So I have to... otherwise maybe no one will.... " ..get it?
