I happen to live in Hamburg and have visited the Wunderland around 10 times. It's so big that no documentary can show. Although you can go through the whole thing in one day, it's still impossible to discover everything that's in there. Even after all the times I have been there I see new things every time.

It is something worth seeing once, but be forewarned that it is not a realistic layout. It is much closer to a series of separate toy train layouts shoehorned into cramped spaces inside a warehouse. For myself with an interest in realistic modeling of RR operations, it was disappointing to see in person - what I could see of it. If you want to see better model railroads made with accuracy and sweeping vistas, there are a number of these layouts around the world that are open to the public. Some are shpwn here on YT on the Pilentum channel.

Wunderland Hamburg is beyond words. As a model railroader, I am totally amazed at the details in this Wonderful Place. My home N Scale layout is only 10’ x3’ with an upper shelf of 8’ x3’ and just trying to plan what is going to be included is keeping me busy. I cannot imagine the time and details involved in Wunderland, but just my KZitem tour is educating me for some of the details I want. My next trip to Europe will definitely include a visit and I am sure I will need several days to explore it all.

The bridge, that they were talking about in the last minutes, has now been finished for learly 2 weeks. But the other side won't house England/Scotland (at least for now) but South America. Southern France/Provence is also nearly finished, but Monaco with the Formula 1 racing track is taking some time.

This is being extremely extremely nit picky, cause this is just absolutely amazing. The only thing, only thing I would maybe like to see in the future are small cut outs inside parts of the builds for vistors to basically be ground level inside of the city. The builders and techs put such incredible detail that, from a distance you can't always appreciate. But a cleared dome that would allow vistors to basically just be place in say the middle of a busy street and have a full 360 view would just be icing on the cake. I can not wait to visit here and just experience this first hand.

I build dollhouses as a hobby and I absolutely adore miniatures. Seriously, THIS IS THE MOST AMAZING THING I HAVE EVER SEEN. I would go to Germany just to see this myself. I love the behind the scenes. They would never have something this cool in America for the simple reason that the-powers-that-be don't give a shit about entertaining the people. It would seem to frivolous. Thank you to all the modelers at Wunderland.

With that much effort invested in that one building, i just can't fathom the immense scale of damage in any disastrous situation. This place should be somewhere remote where no human and natural disaster can occur.
@EnjoyFirefighting
3 жыл бұрын
natural disasters can offur pretty much anywhere ... however the city and state is far inland and survived many centuries so far, good chance that it's safe from tsunamis etc; Earthquakes don't happen there, volcanos don't exist there; Fires can occur in a building in remote areas as well
@bluelivesmatter8502

@@EnjoyFirefighting I mean yea, i understand that it have to be in a city to attract tourist and visitors, but i think being underground is much more safer... that way you can avoid damage by wars and riots like situations.
@EnjoyFirefighting
3 жыл бұрын
@@bluelivesmatter8502 I guess in that city being underground would be more of a danger than being several floors above ground; Tidal storm floods even affect this city although it's far from the coastline; As for riots ... the city is well known for its riots on political and sports events but they were never affected there so far; I guess if they really wanted to, they'd manage to open any door no matter if it's above or under ground

The Wild West town was a great touch. Everybody loves the steamers for their moving parts, even if they don't fit in with their surroundings, so having areas set in centuries past is a great way of showing them off. Or you could go forward, and do a 22nd century Mars colony, with tunnel borers boring away, Hyperloops zipping about, and rocketships blasting off from the spaceport. As one famed model railway enthusiast said about HIS masterpiece "Disneyland will never be finished so long as there is imagination left in the world."
