@Entebbe Wow the guy has knowledge about Ugandan hip hop artists😘😘. You should always bring him back in any talks regarding the so called "Urban Ugandan music". Personally, in no particular order I will consider GNL Zamba, Navio, The Mith and Keko (For keko being the only Vibrant Femcee to ever shut down the whole Uganda North to South in history) as the best hip hop artists not because they have the best selling songs ever or videos etc but for their consistences in the game no matter what! Also thanks for shining lights on Atlas, Jim Nola, The Mith, Lumix (RIP) Mulekwa (RIP), Mom MC, St nelly Sade, MC Yalla and Don MC...Next time talk about Ugandan hip hop artist who have spent more than 10 years in the industry but are just known to a few people like me. These are: Young Nick, Sylvester & Abrams, Patrobas, Ruyonga, Lady Slyke, Lyrical G, Byg Ben Sukuya, Pryce Teeba, Play01, Lyrical Proof, Kabaka Survivor, Reef HD, Tucker HD, Flex D'Paper among others!!!!!!!!! Is the blame on the main stream media or us as consumers we just don’t want to embrace good music , is language the problem, do Ugandans just want to listen to easy sing a long songs for Fik, Mun G, Gravity and Feffe kind of hip hop? But how come Ugandans consume the complicated, explicit lyrics and more exotic beats from the Drakes, the Rick Ross, Lil Waynes of this world! Becuse we would say these Ugandan musicians are not popular in Uganda because they sing in English!! Yes I admit most people (its a shame) came to know about Big Tril in 2019 and Ruyonga in 2022 after "Party after party" and "Party y'ani" respectively !!!!!!!!!😪😪😪😪 Lastly, I would really want to attend to Frank Ntambi's hip hop show at Liquor shade one day. Thanks so much Kasuku and Frank

Thanks for hosting this guy. He is informed and has followed the hiphop genre locally for sometime. But point of correction, its true the late Dj Momo had a stint inthe Bataka Undergound as Momo Mc in the early 2000's. Big Poppa Chagga Yaga yo can clarify on this one.

Hello, Kasuku thanks for hosting him. I love the analysis, it is on point. However, I disagree with the argument that GNL left because of having no competition. Like it or not, Gravity's strategy of rapping on the local dancehall beats changed the whole game.
@Ayogenius67

No, I think GNL wanted to other things like movie directing and movie making coz as a person u have to mature like Kanye west went to fashion and he drops some albums when he wants this GNL is doing the same and gravity can’t be a threat nawe Gwe if u see gravity can he be a threat to GNL.

The problem is he very well differentiated hiphop from just rap, but then later on he continued to mix the two terms to be the same. Then I wondered... If they organize "hiphop" awards, why would you want fik fameika to win an award or even be nominated. Just know if it's a hiphop event, trust me the minds behind it very well know and are sure of the genre... Toziyita zina awards oba hipipo awards... Cuz abo tebamanyi definition ya hiphop
