Thanks for the video… I enjoyed it. Not sure about the older military cots (canvas and wood)… but the modern versions can be “unscrewed” and disassembled. The nylon cover can be removed for repair/stitching or replacement. You can find (somewhat rare but I have purchased some) the original replacement cot nylon fabric replacement kits. In Iraq I wrote all kinds of stuff on cots with sharpie. General orders. Arabic alphabet. The “Leroy was here” head and arms drawing. You would see all sorts of “stuff” drawn on them. Name of individual to facilitate finding specific people at night for fire watch change over. I would always draw a chess board on my cot and then two people with chairs could get a game going.

Thats pretty cool thinking actually. Yeah the old ones are not so easy to swap out the covers on :(

Good video! A very nice setup! It looks very comfortable....could you go over the map case & the binoculars? Also, as reenactor, who do you portray? Thanks! 😊

I shall do a video on both at some point :) I wanted to wait until I got a nice WW2 dated map case as mine is post war. I have a few different uniforms. As a rule I go with a generic 2nd armoured division uniform. I have the stuff to do both Normandie and later war versions and I kept my Jeep unmarked so it can go with any uniform.

Hi Chris I was wandering if you could made a video on m3 grease gun webbing?
@Truffle1947
11 ай бұрын
Hey. Grease gun webbing seems to be a bit of a strange thing. I have not looked into it a huge amount but I will do some research. I am basically awear of a few different options. Grease gun mags just being put in M1GP mags. Mags being put into the thompson magazine shoulder bags although I am not convinced they would fit. There is a specific grease gun magazine shoulder bag but off the top of my head I believe they were very late war. They are to long to fit into the thompson webbing pouches and there is a grease gun version of that webbing pouch that holds 3 grease gun magazines but I am sure I have heard that they were again only very late war or post war. I do however have some examples of these so I can do a video showing the options but for a definate answer I will need to do more research. Does your impression have a particular point in the war? As if its a late war impression it probably makes it easier than if it is Dday. I will see what I can find for you.

The video might be a little delayed as I suddenly have a Jeep repair to do. But as a quick note if you want to get on. I would advise from what I have found. That you simply use an M1 GP bag for your magazines. Or possibly even a gasmask bag.

@@thatoneguywithtwothumbs The little windows at the front and back are actually for that. They a specific stove that they used inside them and a plate went on the "hatch" to protect it.
