The irony of everything is that the entire reason Roman was deemed "the guy" was after the reaction he got in the 2014 rumble. A year later he's booed out of the building because the office made it his time instead of Bryan's. Something Vince and the office don't get, none of the hand picked babyfaces work because it's not organic. Roman in 2014? Organic, people liked him. CM Punk was organic, the office almost let him walk out of the company in 2011 because they didn't see anything in him. Bryan? Organic. Austin? Organic. Even The Rock, who fell flat on his face when he was the hand picked Rocky Maivia, he had to turn heel and organically gain support from the crowd. Cena? Originally organic with the Dr. Of Thuganomics. Where as before with guys like Austin, Cena, and The Rock though, they got over and then the company pushed them to the moon. These days guys get over and they are punished for it because Vince didn't hand select them. Nothing will change while Vince is around, but we all already know that.

I never had problem with Batista coming back to be part of the Royal Rumble match and I give him a ton of respect for not only sticking around but for also putting over lots of guys, the problem was he was at the right place at the wrong time. Daniel Bryan was red hot with the fans and they wanted him to be in the main event of Wrestlemania, booking Batista to win the Royal Rumble was a stupid decision especially as the fans completely crapped on his celebration, thankfully and very smartly WWE added Daniel Bryan in the main event making it a triple threat match and not only turned Batista heel but he also did the job as well but the 2014 Rumble ppv is living proof that the creative team nor the boss don't have a clue what they are doing.

Throwing Bryan in that match killed that narrative. And i do have a problem with Bryan main eventing Wrestlemania but CM Punk, A.J. Styles, RVD never did? Strange..
