I prefer this Bret vs Bulldog match over the Summerslam 92 match, this was a rare gem in a muddy year and one of Brett's best matches.

Both matches were brilliant. From pure bell-to-bell in ring action this one might be better but the atmosphere of SummerSlam is incredible... and I also prefer Bulldog's look from then with the long braids.

Both matches are superb. This one gets overlooked. However I also prefer it. One thing about this era is how high the match quality was. Compared to what came before and even after it.

I've watched the Hart/Bulldog match numerous times and it is a masterpiece that rarely gets talked about. It was a beautiful war. Definitely in my top 5 Bret Hart matches.

As Jim Cornette once said about Davey, "If he was on, he was a top worker in the world. Issue is, he wasn't totally on most of the time when it came to interest. Bret and Owen brought it out of him, though."

Compared to the current point of time in the Reliving the War timeline (Post-Wrestlemania 14), this PPV gave me tonal whiplash by how much had changed since December 1995. The tone of the New Generation-Era sure was... something.

2 things I always gotta appreciate about your videos, besides what the video is about, is the music choices. Love the mixing in the beginning of your videos, and I love how you throw in classic wrestling game themes in there as well. I know people criticize HHH for some things in his career but it shows you he really paid his dues. The man was in a Hog Pen Match that had me dead when he fell in that Hog Pen face first after he won the match vs Henry Godwinn. My mom bought the PPV so I got to see and loved the championship match between Bret and Bulldog.

Bret could’ve helped get Jim over in this match if he had gotten the colour from a tennis racket shot. Because that will cut you right open in reality and Jim always has the racket, it would’ve been perfect and help establish Bret really overcoming the odds.

A forgotten Bret gem. Davey was great too with the addition of Jim Cornette. It was rare when Bret bladed (except in his Stampede days), but when he did, it made the match.

It's so weird for me looking back on this era. On one hand you have gimmicks like "Wrestling hillbillies hitting people with pig slop" in this cartoonish sense... and then you have Bret and Davey Boy Smith just absolutely destroying each other in a competitive, physical match that ends on a bit of a technical roll up instead of the finishes I'd be more used to after the Attitude Era faded of the "Double down then someone hulks up for a finisher and pinfall". Just a truly unique blend of things in that transitional era.

It seems back in the early reliving the War days that Davey did WAY more chinlocks....maybe by the end he decided that they were too powerful & limited them to 1 or 2 times a match. But even then would Davey hold back sometimes from using it at all. What a mad bastard he was. Master of Chinlocks. Also the "He headbutts Bret right in the asshole" nearly killed me. Was drinking water & I choked for a solid 20 seconds

I got a kinda bizarre request but I'd love to see you review the 1997 Slammy Awards, it was honestly a very entertaining special and I've always kinda viewed it as the definitive explanation point to The New Generation (while I've personally always considered Wrestlemania 13 as The Attitude Era's true beginning).

I was there it’s in the old Hershey park arena and it’s basically an ice skating arena lol now they use the giant center for events in Hershey my favorite thing is diesel vs owen hart was a huge diesel fan lol also a fun backstage story is owen hart let the hogs from the hog pen match in Vince’s office 😂also no one knew who buddy was and Bret vs bulldog was a classic

I did not watch wrestling in 1995. I was watching it the previous years but in 1995 I decided not to watch it but right before wrestlemania 12 and 1996. I started watching it again so when I watch highlights of the WWF 1995, I don’t remember any event and it’s all new to me

What's crazy to me is that a $70 game back then is WAY more expensive than a $70 game today, and $70 back then for a game wasn't extremely uncommon. This is why I can't take people seriously when they complain about game prices today. They just don't understand. People back in the 90s were paying the today equivalent of like $100 for most games.
