Debuted as heel. Turns face at Mania. Turns heel a couple months later when he starts working with Undertaker. Turns face leading up to Survivor Series. Turns heel after being screwed at the 2000 Royal Rumble. Turns face after Wrestlemania 16. Turns heel a couple months later to join Shane McMahon again. He was too fat. Returned as a heel. Turned face due to the Invasion. Managed to go nearly a year as a face before turning heel once more to join the nWo 2002. Spent a whole two years as a heel until he 'quit' after losing to Eddie Guerrero post Wrestlemania 20 and tried to kill Torrie Wilson and Kurt Angle where upon his return became a face for going after Kurt Angle. Leading up to Survivor Series 2005 he and Kane were acting as heels for Raw against team Smackdown though it was more a matter of perspective. Turned heel for real after joining ECW in 2006 and winning the ECW Championship from RVD. Hiatus. Returned as a heel but smoothly transitioned into a face against Floyd Mayweather. Turned heel attacking The Undertaker later in 2008. Turned face midway through 2010 after turning on The Miz and joining Smackdown once more. Turned heel at over the limit 2012 by helping Big Johnny. Turned face against The Authority in mid 2013. Joined the Authority at Survivor Series 2014 with another heel turn. Then I dunno.

The best things from this show imo. Boyz II Mens rendition of America the beautiful, the intro, seeing Gorilla monsoon which would be his final appearance, Takers entrance(because of course), and Austins title win. Kind of a stepdown from mania 14, and it's the final of the 90s.
@ajk
10 ай бұрын
Speaking about stepdowns, it's sad to see how far the LOD (rip to both Animal and Hawk), fell in a year's time. At Mania 14, they open the show in a #1 Contender's Battle Royal essentially built around them w/a fresh new look and manager in Sunny after being gone since December (speaking of fallen stars, yeesh lol) and win it. Fast forward to 15, and the scenario is the same, but this time they aren't even on the card proper, nor do they come anywhere near winning the match to get on it. It's a really striking difference, made even moreso, when you consider the fact that two random wrestlers paired together for the sake of it, ended up taking the spot over them. I don't even remember this return at all as an aside, which shows just how forgettable it was. It almost comes across as a throwaway just to fill a spot for the battle royal. Curious to see how many times they appeared on Raw after this, assuming they did at all. But yeah, just a really sad end, not counting their one night return in 03, for one of the best and most decorated tag teams of their era. They deserved better.

Triple H turning on DX was the absolute right and best decision he made for his career. Despite what the other members think, the DX Army seemed to run out of steam post SummerSlam the previous year and were just there without a real direction. With the Rock's babyface turn ensuring that he would never be higher than maybe the 4th or 5th highest babyface on any given card, Triple H saw a window to be the villain to those more popular acts and took it.

I think they wanted it that way at first, too. But it was something to fall back on when they painted themselves into a corner. I'm 100% convinced that they had no idea who the higher power was supposed to be going into the reveal, so they went with the company's top heel: Vince.

I was still a WCW fan at this point. I just remember one pay per view all the good guys had finally won the titles and then the next all the heels won the titles back and we were back to square one so I decided to start watching WWF again. I followed a bit with The Undertaker and burned Teddy Bear. By King of the Ring 99, I was full on WWF and my first PPV since like 1996.

Should be, IMO. It's basically the perfect spot to end the series. It's a pipe dream of mine but after WM X7 I'd love it if he comes up with a new series, Reliving the Invasion, that would basically serve as the (long form) epilogue to the whole RtW saga: how the easiest slam dunk in wrestling history became a ridiculous overbooked mess and the biggest wasted chance in the industry. A sad epilogue for a once proud promotion: with a bunch of talent buried week after week and everything devolving into same old, same old WWF-centric storylines.
