About the Veteran: Lt. Col. Harrison Covington was a fighter pilot with the US Army Air Force in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He flew the Republic P-47 Thunderbolt fighter aircraft while stationed with the 311th Fighter Squadron in New Guinea, the Philippines, and Okinawa.
