I love watching people knit and crochet in public or on the bus. It's a great way to meet people and talk about the project that they are doing.

Thank you Natalie and Kent for showing us knitting around New York on World Knit in Public Day. I loved seeing the different animal critters you have there. Very cute and amazed to see so many turtles I have seen about 3 turtles swimming in a pond near where I walk with a friend. To see the sunning themselves was pretty amazing. We have lots of different birds here too and now and then in the warmer months in Perth, Western Australia near our bushlands we see lizards and kangaroos as well. I went to a local market for World Knit in Public Day. It was great to meet new people with the same passion.

Looks like you had a beautiful day! I, unfortunately, wasn't able to go out to knit for WWKIPD. I did get some knitting (and booboo fixes) done at home. Just want to thank you, Natalie, for having such wonderful tutorials. I've learned so much more than how to just knit socks from your "cuff down/after thought heel" video. Little things like "verifying your knitting direction" and "picking up the right leg of your stitch" have really helped me when installing lifelines and needles. Honestly, I never knew how much I didn't know about knitting until KZitem gave me you and Norman at Nimble Needles. You and he have opened my eyes to ways I can improve my skills. I have thanked Norman many times via comments but, I often forget to comment on your pod casts. So, I really wanted to express to you my most heartfelt thanks and appreciation for all the wonderful help you probably didn't realize you were giving. 🤟🤘 💜✌️🧶

So fun! I went to a meetup outside our state library in the city. It was organised on an Instagram group chat but most of us had not met in person previously. Me and my sister were the first to arrive so we put down our picnic rug and got to knitting. It was so amazing that as people arrived, a total stranger would just walk up to us and be like is this the knitting meetup and sit down and join the group. I feel like knitting is one of the best ways to make instant friends.

You went to so many of my favorite places in NYC. I haven’t knit near the Museum of Natural History, but it was my son’s favorite museum growing up. I don’t remember if I’ve knit in Central Park - I’ll add it to my list for future knitting. Bryant Park is a fabulous place to knit. The Bathroom there is so nice. I was so surprised. I was there in April for the Tartan Parade. It’s funny to hear about what others think of New Yorkers. My experience has been that New Yorkers are focused as they walk. Many times I was walking to or from work. I didn’t make eye contact with many of the street was crowded. I would smile at others in the mornings when the streets were less crowded. Now I knit and walk, enjoying the day. I guess I still have my determined NY face on and my city walking pace when my toe hits the NY sidewalk. I’m a regular PATH and NJ Transit knitter now. No Subway.

The bathroom in Bryant Park is great! There are also some bathroom in Central Park, which are a lifesaver. Haha oh no you definitely don't look at people directly when you walk here, gotta get where you are going!

That was fun. Thank you for sharing. When you think New York you think lots of people jammed together walking down the street. Nice to see there are some nice places to relax.

This was so fun! First, the views around NYC! Thank you! (I’m home bound and in Missouri, so I’ll never get there in person, so thanks for sharing the loveliness!) Second, it was fantastic to see so many people out and about and knitting in public! (Which, btw, I do at least 2times a year when I have dr appts! The ladies in the office always wanna see what I’m working on and pics of finished projects!) Again, thanks for sharing your life and knitting in NYC! Have a great rest of the day!

First I thought the same, like she’s crazy for leaving her beautiful cottage, but then I realized that I did the exact same thing, it wasn’t as planned out as your journey, but I also moved to Paris in my thirties after a long term relationship fell apart, and having left Southern California people also thought I was nuts. I moved into tiny spaces with my cat, made the best of friends, had a few horrible flings, was always out and about and also met my love and got pregnant at forty ❤ so yes it’s nuts but if you follow your heart you cannot do otherwise! More power to you 🎉

The 'in New York there's always someone weirder than you' thing made me laugh. In life, there will always be someone who is not used to having your skill set/personality put in front of them - you are a novelty to someone, somewhere. Moving country has taught me this many a time...

How fun to see you knitting in action around town! I was hoping to catch a glimpse of how you walk and knit. It's also nice to see you're a thrower like me. I feel this guilt in the back of my mind that I should learn to knit continentally, but at the same time, I don't really have a problem with throwing either, so I will keep doing it. Happy knitting!

I think it's awesome that we all knit differently! Everyone should knit how they are comfortable. And as throwers we can be slightly smug about how much "easier" it is for us to purl. 😜
