Scout Scout Scout 🤦🏼🤦🏼🤦🏼 well glad she’s safe but I think she’s just a free spirit and still wants to roam. I tell ya what, I’ll switch places with Scout and I’ll come and go on adventures and she can do my job 😂😂 Great video 👍🏼

You're definitely right about that! She thinks it's fun to run and doesn't know the dangers that are out there. Gives my little dog mom heart anxiety! So glad Howard was able to track her for that long. Haha! I'll extend that offer to her 😂

Weird how you got stuck by a train by the place where you camped. Then sad Scout fit out again but good thing you caught her and brought her back. Glad when she got out before and Howard went after her they both were found. That would scare me to death. Hope you both had a wonderful holiday together. Can’t wait until next video. Stay safe and see you soon. Have a great week.

Yes, we have also been stopped/blocked by a train. In Germany about 3 years ago. Took forever, and with the caravan on the back, a long drive home ahead of us, it was terribly irritating. Oh dear, Scout lived up to her name then: scouting around on her own. Oh well, it's one of her least endearing qualities but melts away when she looks at you both with those gorgeous eyes. Happy travels. Stay safe and keep smiling. ❤️👍🎥🍷😂🙋♀️

I used to own a rat terrier male. He was so wild and constantly ran away because he loved to be running loose. We finally had to give him away because he almost caused an accident twice and we were afraid that one day someone would end up getting killed trying to not hit him or that he would get hit and killed. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to invest in training him so this was the best option for him. We later found out he was doing great with the new family and they were able to train him to where he didn't run off anymore. It can be so heartbreaking when pets are lost. Glad you found your baby and all was good❤️

Dramatic reenactment 😂 ugh though - Sierra takes off sometimes too, but generally comes back when I yell COOKIES. Our last Lab in her older years just randomly walked out of the trailer one night - she was black so we couldn’t see her - Jim ended up tripping over the fire pit and completely shredded his shin and I mean completely. Luckily our friend Randy was better at handling a bloody emergency than I was. It. Was. Bad.

Scout grew up coming and going as she wanted to, so at times she just wants to go. What would it cost for a tracker for her? Another shipping option is to ship or receive packages at a retail store. More of them are doing that.
@NewstateNomads
3 жыл бұрын
Great points, John! We've looked at a couple tracker options, though the limitation with some of them is the need for cell service to send the location signal. We'll keep digging. Local store pickup is a great option! I have seen it for products you order from them, but will they receive any other packages, too? Thanks so much for watching. 👍 -Howard

I know the feeling loosing a dog. Our deaf dog used to bolt out of doors and she did one time near the zoo in OKC and went throught the horse track parking lot across a 4 lane highway and on to a movie theater. I lost her in the parking lot but we were lucky a dentist and his family caught her in the movie theater parking lot about a mile away. After searching for 20 minutes I got a call from the family asking if I lost a dog, so embarrassing. Over time she just quit bolting out doors and terrible she is deaf because we can’t call her, so she is on a leash all the time when out.
@NewstateNomads

Oh my goodness! That's so scary she crossed a four lane highway, thank goodness she was ok! And even worse that she is deaf since she can't hear you calling her at all. Glad she stopped doing that! We're hoping with some training and time Scout will stop too. It's not a fun little habit, haha. 😆 - Katelyn

@@NewstateNomads She bolted out the door to the house before so I made sure she had our contact information in her chip and on her collar. She also had her therapy dog information on too so there was different ways people could get a hold of us. She had a lot of training but I thing the beagle in her just gets her going but she is more shih tzu.

First of all, that was genius to use your shirt as a leash. I've had dogs run away and you go through so many emotions... anger, fear, happiness. When you finally find them you want to strangle them but in the end, you love them to death.

Hi Lisa! We don't... But you're right! It is probably a good idea. Especially with Scout's flight risk tendencies. Piper and Ella are microchipped which gives me a little peace of mind, they also don't bolt out the door like her 😳😂 but yes, hopefully as she gets older and we keep working with her on it, she'll get better ♥️

O how I know what your going thru. We got a Karelian Bear Dog at 2 years old and was a basket case. She was abused and didn’t want anything to do with us. She would bolt at any chance. Problem is she would destroy everything in her path and was impossible to catch. Many times she would be left at trail heads in our local mountains because my wife would get frustrated with her and leave her and I would go find her later sometimes the next day. We thought about giving her up many times but decided “who else would put up with her?”
