Normally I’d agree with it being an excuse but in Fassbender’s case I believe him. He’s a boss when it comes to accents. Inglorious Basterds, Alien: Covenant, etc

Hmm, i love this movie, but something i missed then really caught my eye now. And it was right in the thumbnail. Magneto would probably be killed by the gas exiting the barrel at point blank range, even if he deflected the bullet. And if he prevent the gas from escaping the barrel, the pistol could explode in Xaviers hand. Still great movie, with great performaces across the board.

Realistically a gun would fire a bullet through Magneto's head before he could react. So to prevent being shot he would have to be magnetically locking the bullet before the gun was fired. This would result in Xavier being unable to move the gun and because the bullet was locked the pistol would explode if it was fired.

I actually wonder how this scene was handled on set? Foam prop? Fake gun? Because I be damned if i let anyone point a real gun at my head. I don’t care if i cleared it 3 times over myself. No. Just no.

They're often solid props and even then, actors point them to the side of the other actors, not directly at them. The one he presses on was probably a solid build with Foley (sound effects) added in post.

Some magnet fishermen pulled a few old rifles out of Toronto Harbour. If the cops hadn't come they probably would have taken them home. They were very corroded and no way would they fire. But if they were loaded, isn't it possible the cartridges might explode and send shrapnel out?

Charles actually loaded the cartridge with rock salt as a prank but had second thoughts as he didn't want to piss off Eric too much. "Here, dodge this, ya spoon bending b@stard!!" The last time he pulled a stunt like that, Eric turned Charle's car into an anvil. Such kidders.

James McAvoy's English accent is really convincing. It's not just an imitation of the poshest person in the world like most people do. I know Scotland isn't exactly on the other side of the world but trust me, I've heard some awful attempts before 😂
