I hope Singapore government realise that they use Singaporean’s resources to groom foreigners instead of local and at the end of the day they leave Singapore to contribute to other countries. How to vow for such government?

I can tell u frankly 80% of my batch scholars remain in Singapore and 90% of their children are in GEP program and they became Singaporean. Chris Feng, Shoppee CEO is from the same batch scholar as me. I would say this scholarship program is a huge success by Singapore goverment. I'm just one outlier.

Hey, calm down, I think this is the best ending for both parties. Isn't it much better than her bringing the folks over and setting the tone that SG is a Chinese diaspora country? She has already made her contribution. Also, the PAP doesn't need you to vow for them; it's enough just to vote. 😃😃😃

Everybody seeks a better life , it is a human nature. That's why mankind spreads from Africa to other parts of the world many many years ago. My father migrated from China to SG in the early 1930s. I migrated from SG to OZ in the 1980s. For all Chinese who live outside mainland China, their root [family tree ] can be traced back to there. However, as what SG PM Lee said: wherever you decided to live, put your heart and soul in there, be a good citizen in your local community. 😊

this opinion is disingenuous to the point that you deserve pity. just take a look at literally any statistic that matters - since youve said "voting by foot" go and look at the PR or citizen application queue times, the foreign population increment rates, migration rates, you name it, choose it, and google it find for yourself whether Aus is really the overall preferred choice. this is the one thing youre refusing to believe: for the weak-minded and weak-willed (yes, you), AUS is definitely the preferred. on the overall, you cant make the argument to anyone who has taken statistics classes beyond primary school

@@rukawalin7994 Big house?? Is 4810 sqft consider big? Mine was 6 toilets 7 rooms but I downgraded to smaller one. What so fascinated about big house? You need to engage helper, more stuff to clean. More wear and tear. Now am happier with less time on house chores. My friend's house 12000 sqft just changed the whole house aircon cost nearly 100k. The quality of your so called big house is just "big" house that's it. Not forgetting Aus is a Hugh country, nothing to hype about. My friend in Melbourne already intended to sell away her 2 storey house as she is getting old and shift to a smaller single floor house, taking too much time to clean. Not all Singaporeans need to go Aus to have a life. In Aus Queenstown, is having housing crisis, hard to get a house. The public housing even worst need to wait 10 years. Just came back from Aus. I believed you do see homeless people sleeping on the shop front at night in Melbourne and Sydney. Melbourne weather one can experience 4 seasons in a day. The parking fees in these area are expensive. Tax ain't low, friend in Perth pay around 43%. Eating out ain't cheap. Was told some Australians never even travel within the country's city. Ironically, Perth closer to Singapore and Jakarta than the nearest large Australian city, Adelaide, and separated from Melbourne and Sydney by some 4,000km (2,500 miles) Singapore to Darwin around 4hrs 45mins. Sydney to Darwin around 4hrs 20mins In fact when you work, you will be also like in Sg. Thru and fro working place and home. Do you travel everyday? But holiday right?Same here, in Sg we travel during holiday. 25 January 2023 "Australian property owners have been urged to start paying a weekly 'rent' tax to indigenous groups based on their ancestral claim to the land". My friend told me this. All countries have pros and cons. Just wonder without vehicle how far can one within Melbourne?
I fully agree with her frank talking point on why she decided to migrate to Australia. especially her case, parents in China, and unable to get PR to take care of her children, etc. Australia is more open to close family ties, allowing her to sponsor her parents to stay in Australia and get PR. Also, there are more opportunities for education, jobs, welfare, and a pro family work environment. Singapore work environment is competitive and has a high cost of living. I wish her and her family members a happy stay in Australia. If I were younger, I would follow her footsteps and migrate to Australia.

This is the first impression when my parents arrived in Singapore they were quite shocked to see elderlies clean table everywhere. That's certainly not common in both Shanghai and Sydney. @@rukawalin7994 What you see, ain't denied there are less fortunate old people working to meet end needs. But there are also those who choose to work by choice. Like my friend's mum a carton boxes collector, alot of outsiders thought she must be poor and even offered her food but in actual fact she has Sgd$400k+ in the bank and a fully paid up flat, simply because she doesn't want to stay at home. My dad insist of working not because of poverty but he want to keep himself active. In fact, he owned 2 properties fully paid and financially independant. When you go Japan, you will see the same scenarios. I encounteted an old man cleaning up public toilet in tokyo. In Sg, the old people will try to be independant and less dependant on kids. In China, seemed like most old people like to take care of the grandchildren. In my circle, relatives and friends no one want to do that. So the culture is different. Different educations and different views. In China, a 25 years old woman is considered 剩女 But here, still young. In Sg, we don't asked for expensive dowry, some don't even asked for any. Also not a need to pay for a house when the kid want to get married. "In Australia people aged over 55 have been a key driver of the country’s labour market since the start of the pandemic, accounting for almost 40 per cent of the nearly 491,000 workers who joined the workforce between October 2019 and October 2022." "Employment rate of the 55 to 64 year olds in Germany rose markedly within ten years from 62% in 2012 to just under 72% in 2021. In the same period, the employment rate of the 55 to 64 year olds in the EU was up from 47% to 60%.19 Jan 2023" "Japan-In 2021 the ratio of working people in the 65 to 69 years of age bracket surpassed the 50% mark, with 50.3% in that age group still working. Even among those in the next higher age bracket of 70 to 74 years, about one out of three people still work." "More than half of Canadians still in the workforce past the age of 60 are there by necessity,Labour Force Survey from Statistics Canada in 2022."
Sigh, not offensive and highly respect to Singapore. But feel this developed nation inherited Chinese culture (not preferred): Make stong more stronger and ingore the vulnerables.
