If the Townes view has the central beam going through the foramen magnum, it means there is primary beam dose to the face for no reason except that the projection was defined 100 years ago and not refined after the invention of the Light beam diaphragm. Collimate to exclude the eyes. Change the centring point by rotation of the tube, so not 30 degrees, but more like 27. Changing the angle does not change the projection even though 75% of radiographers and 5% of radiologists think it will

is it just me or that caldwell view needs more angulation caudally so that we have the petrous ridge under the inferior orbital marging. just me?

Are Petrous Ridges and Zygomatic Arch the same thing? Or are they located in the same place? I get the two mixed up

The zygomatic arch is one of the external facial bone while the petrous ridges is located in the medial part of the internal skull.
