Few boats can match the X-Yachts Cruising range when it comes to finding everything you need to sail in safety and luxury anywhere in the world. Built for the high latitudes and some of the most trying oceans conditions you may encounter, they are also sleek and fast. The sail plan has been created specifically for long distance cruising.
The Xc 50 is also easily sailed short-handed, with under-deck halyards led aft to self-tailing winches (including electric primary winch already installed with all other winches pre-wired) and a secure central console.
At first glance, this magnificent vessel, which we first encountered docked at Whangarei Marina, revealed herself to be nothing short of a head-turner. Gleaming with her just-polished epoxy gelcoat and multitude of stainless steel deck fittings (even the anchor controls are stainless steel, as are all the winches..), reinforced glass wind shield, strong davits and top quality running rigging tidily coiled or invisible, quite simply looked like the ultimate luxury yacht.
However, this Xc 50 is not just beautiful to behold, she hides, beneath her graceful lines the strength and qualities of a very serious extreme explorer. This is for this reason that this French family with two young children decided on this model after years of research and experience as professional sailors. This was for many reasons the best boat for their planned journey, which took them from France to the antipodes over 27,000 nautical miles, across some of the wildest oceans of the world, deep into the 40's and 50's latitudes, across the Atlantic, the windy canals of Patagonia, into the Pacific and across to New Zealand over a two year period.

Enjoy!
