Great video Sean! I really liked the simulator recording part because I actually don't have an iPhone, so that was a very neat and nifty trick! I actually watched this like a month back and only now I realised I could comment lmao. Also I am quite slow at typing so do you have any tips to increase that speed as well? (Just for some context I am a middle-school boy, and I do swift coding and I know about JSON, I have used MessageKit, AVKit, and one app that I really worked on: A map application that gives to turn by tun directions, I also have some experience with face recognition, and I average around 60wpm) Thanks a lot really love your teaching style! Wish I could buy your course, but I don't think I am ready for it yet.

For App Store screenshots, sure. But there are many other circumstances where you could need specific states for screenshots (marketing, FAQs, help documents, testing documents, etc...)

No, this is for display only. There is a way to test bad network connections with your device connected. With your phone plugged in and Xcode open.... Window > Devices & Simulators, then scroll down a bit till you see Device Conditions

Hi Sean , I hope one day you can share a video in how to run multiple simulators at the same time for expedite layouts for diff screens . I am trying to run iPhone 8 / 8+ / iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Max Pro at the same build , but could not find a way . I think it will be super helpful .
@seanallen

I don't believe there is a way to run them at the same time. However, once you run it once on a device, that simulator now has that build of the app (you can use the app without xcode running it). So you can run it separately on each device, then stop it on each device but keep the various simulators open.
@xenadu02

You can drag the app from the Products folder in the project navigator and drop it on any open sim window to install the app into that sim without rebuilding.

Have you experienced any issues with buttons inside UITableViewCells? (Watched your video on delegates and protocols like 10 times before it became second nature.) My buttons were working prior to updating to Xcode 12. At first, I thought there was something wrong in my code since I had to update several lines of code but they work fine on my device.

Not sure. I usually record my screen using QuickTime from my actual phone. Plug your phone in, open QuickTime, start a new “movie” recording then set your phone as the source (there’s a drop down arrow next to the red record button).

I been struggling to change the text of a UIButton in Swift, could you make a video showing how to change the text of a UIButton Programmatically In Swift, thanks.
@KailashAnand06
3 жыл бұрын
Hey man it is actually very easy! Let us just say that you name the button: "myCustomButton" ok? Then of course all the code to make it pop-up on the screen then to set a title: myCustomButton.setTitle("This will be an apt title for whatever this button is going to do", for: .normal) Thats it! It really is that simple! Just a little tip: I like to use this particular extensions in my apps to make setting and getting the text of the button easier: extension UIButton { var text: String? { get { return self.titleLabel?.text } set { self.setTitle(""This should be some apt text to indicate what this button is going to do", for: .normal) } } } After this extension, you can just set values like this: myCustomButton.text = "It really becomes this easy after adding this simple extension!" Then getting values becomes as easy as: let textOfThisButton = myCustomButton.text Thats it! Remember that the value you get when getting the value of the button will be an optional, so you might have to safely unwrap it ;) Cool deal! So yea hope this helped, and all the best!

@@seanallen If you keep all your projects in project folder, for me it's `/opt/local/dev/` + project name you can cd to the project root and do `xcrun simctl io booted recordVideo "${PWD##*/}_$(date).mp4"` could be a better option. gist.github.com/TyrfingMjolnir/0bc82b38d01fbe90935f531e2932079b
