I bought the Sapphire 6600XT Nitro+ from OCUK who had slightly discounted retailing it at £389 just after launch and I snapped it up. It was painful have to fork out nearly £400 for a graphics card but my old card was faulty and unstable even at idle so I need to get it replaced and I didn't want another 2nd hand card and this was the best deal at the time. So far I'm really impressed with card, solid build quality, fans don't spin when idle, no coil whine, fairly quiet under load (headphones help a lot). I have a 1440p screen so I would have preferred a 6700XT but I'm forking out that much for a GPU so the 6600XT will have to suffice so I can't wait to start trying out FSR.

I bought one for the cheapest price available in Denmark for 525 USD - the quick version. 1 week later it's priced at 555 USD. But I sold my RX 580 for a decent price (300 USD) aswell, so it's bearable.

AMD had no choice to set the MSRP so high for a "1080p" high FPS card, if they had set the MSRP less than $300~350 USD, there is no way gamers could have bought them. But on the other hand, when considering also the other big issue called scalping, maybe a more reasonable MSRP could have been a good idea, maybe. Have a great week guys and keep it up the great job
@BrianCroweAcolyte

Instead of letting them get scalped naturally, just pre-scalp them yourselves lol. I'm more mad about the lack of a reference model being available on amd's website. AIBs are pretty scummy and are just going to divert all their stock to the models with idiot overkill coolers so they can justify selling them for $450-500. You don't need a giant three fan cooler for a 160w GPU.
@adoredtv

good review, only one "problem" people might be tricked into thinking that the difference on average between the 6600XT and 6800XT is only 45%, that can be true at 1080p, but if going to higher resolutions that changes dramatically 🙂

Bought a 6600 XT Nttro+ for my girlfriend, whose brand new system was sitting there without a GPU for a couple weeks. While I'd prefer to not buy the card at 439 € (including 19% VAT), it was a bit of a "now or never" moment. They were in stock, they were reasonably priced at the current insane market circumstances, and the card performs alright. Those who have a capable GPU should probably try and wait it out a little longer, but in her case without any GPU to rely on, it was the best thing we could get our hands on. I just hope it will perform well enough in the next 2-3 years.

The card is £466($644) here in the UK, which is the average asking price for a 6600XT. I should have just bought one when they were 380-400 quid. I bought an RX 480 in 2016 for £230 which I went on to sell for £150 in 2019 to buy a £250 RX 590 which came with 3 games (RE2re, DMC5 and Division 2). Some useful comparisons and good info. I think this would be my go to card in a new build. As there appears to be quite a bit of competition and new tech to come in the next 18-24 months, I wouldn't want to spend too much right now. I'm hopeful that intel can shake the market a bit with their new offerings, perhaps even becoming the new go to for budget gamers, and that should (fingers crossed) bring the pricing down with AMD at least. Nvidea will as alwas play the market manipulation game, but I'm so sick of it along with forking out money for features that aren't used, like encoders and raytracing, that I'm happy to spend on AMD right now.

For the review: - reading the marketing trash i.e. for the backplate is whatever. Let's be real since overclocking is nearly no more with modern built in boosters all the marketing about cooling is not really that interesting. All in all is it cool in normal usage / has it heat stress on certain components, because it is not sufficiently cooled is the need to know today. If there is no issue all the marketing crap doesn't be much to know after all - thickness of the card measured especially in inches is useless 2.5 slots is more informing. - graph bars without a NV card thrown in for reference like an 1660ti or so is underwhelming for comparing across both manufactures. I got a used 1070 around 3years ago for 200€. This is still a f***ing rip off. There is no card for currently 200€ that is new and come even close to this year old crap performance.
