If the firmware updates catch the rest of the rig up with the display it is going to be a winner

The SWR scannner looks like a bug. They changed the scan size, just never updated the display for the range. Or, it might be a feature.

So much more than just an x5150 combined with a g90, noise reduction looks great as do the filters, will certainly be in the market for one of these once they arrive in the uk!

For sure, its a new animal. I'd rather have this than the X5105, but its a hard toss up between this and the G90. If they made the X6100 at 20w, there would be no more G90 for sure.

One nice feature that he fails to cover is the "Glass" screen! Now I don't know if it's Gorilla Glass but it 's still far and away better than polycarbonate or acrylic!

Why is the AGC off ?? Also, why are you tuning in 1khz steps ?? Does it not tune in finer increments like 10 hz or 1hz ?? Thanks. Norm, KC1VY

I wasn't using AGC. I was demoing the display, so 1khz steps were fine. It does tune in tighter increments.

I think the screen width could probably be changed in a future firmware upgrade. If you get a chance someday, could you go over the CW trainer feature? Thanks. Also if you can get it to decode CW, then can you do a video of that? I guess the BPSK is for receive only? Dang, it would be nice to actually send and receive PSK-31 just connecting a mouse and keyboard to it. Thanks again.

Great informative video. I see you turned the VFO above 7.200 khz, but will it transmit there? I ask that only because the spec sheet says 7.0 to 7.200 khz is the transmit range. That little guy is really packed with a lot of nice features. Looks like I'll have a bit of a learning curve if I get one. Barry, KU3X

Not in the market for another radio but dissapointed with some basic functions but then like others that more expensive radios dont have. Im sure they can will fix those issues with future firmware updates but when manual is lacking, FT8 the most popular mode atm not working in your case and some radio vs manual data does not match up makes me standoffish at least for now. With that said and taking into account a Chinese product, price is fair and in the sprit of Hams and experimentation figuring out how things work and discovery can be fun. I would be livid if a Icom or Yeasu put out something in the same state at their normal twice the price of this. They do have something here fix the bugs quick and expand on features quick and they have a winner.

I honestly think they rushed it out for the holiday season/shipping issues that are going on in the world right now. Just my opinion. I would be really shocked if it didn't have WiFi/BT in the box, but not active in the software... but not active in the software seems like first day type stuff... (as in: how did they get this far without having some somewhat broken software vs. wholesale missing)

Hola. Gracias por su video. El X6100 puede transmitir (TX/RX) en CB27 AM/FM/SSB. Se puede configurar para abrirlo de banda y ser banda corrida? Recomienda este equipo? Yo me quiero comprar uno.

Yes, you can open up transmit via software (github.com/TemporarilyOffline/X6100-TOADs/tree/main/firmware). I actually really like this radio, despite some of its limitations. Lots of good stuff in a small package and it will only get better.

@temporarilyoffline

It can not, I just tried it while making a video of something else. It will decode RTTY, but not TX from the keyboard or CW key. Seems like that would be a little bit of ROM space... I would love to see this thing have open source firmware options, imagine what we could do!

Quick addendum to this - it can TX some canned messages, but not "keyboard to keyboard chat" on CW, RTTY, PSK
