Same! I ride my bike regularly, and I used to fence, so I have pretty muscular legs, and they feel so powerful. I don’t workout my arms, so they are these little noodles that are good for nothing. With quarantine I ride much less often then I used too, so my legs are getting weaker, and I’ve decided I fairly like having muscles. I think when I go to college, I will make use of the gym there to work out my arms a bit, because now that I’ve learned what both strong and weak legs are like, I’ve decided that I like being strong. I just need strong arms now.

My favorite part was hearing Mumbo say he's enrolled in Jiujitsu. Sure it's Gi jiujitsu but you can apply no-gi afterwards and start mixing it in with MMA later on if you want, or you can keep it all playful and tidy by sticking with the gi. I say playful but man, those lapel chokes look nasty. MMA guys don't have to worry about it because there's no shirt and grabbing clothing of your opponent is a foul anyway. And then Mumbo was geeking out about it in an End Busting stream with iskall and iskall's like.. "they call it 'rolling'? What the heck man!" Also this is another reminder for me to get back to the garage gym and keep banging that drum. I'd love to get through a full Bas Rutten boxing workout without losing any steam and slacking off in my shots, but it's harder than it seems and it's only going to get harder as I'm already 35. Lift It? That's a video game, I wanna be able to last in a fight that I'll hopefully never get into.

Instead of doing 1000 pushups and completely destroying your joints it would be a better use of time, and energy to choose a variation that you can only barely do 10-20 reps of. Then do 3-5 sets. If a regular pushup is too easy do decline if decline is too easy try archer, if even that's too easy do one arm. The opposite is true as well, if you can't do a pushup yet choose a lower variation that'll still challenge you. Wall pushups are the easiest, then incline, then knee, then regular (though there's probably a couple you could squeeze between those if you had to)

I used to be really into fitness. At my best I could do around 16 dead hand pull ups (not the most impressive but it was good for me). That's when you go all the way up where your chin is above that bar, then go down to where your arms are straight. Lock your arms, count to three, then pull yourself up. NO LEGS!!! I see so many people talking about how many pull ups they do, something like "Oh I can do like 100 pull ups" but then you see them do it and they're using their legs to propel themself upwards. Kipping pull ups is what I think they're called. Pull ups are not a show exorcise they actually work out your back. If you don't use your back to life yourself its only hurting you.

I used to run 5 miles (8km) everyday, go biking, all these random exercises. I was on a swim team, I played soccer. Then one day I hurt my knee. I couldn't go down a single stair without feeling like my kneecap was going to crack open. I went to the doctor many times, but they could never find anything wrong with it. I eventually started doing online school, and all my exercise came to a halt. We got a new dog, and I have been tasked with watching her everyday. She had surgery a couple months ago, and I haven't been allowed to do anything besides sit on the couch with her. In the past year, I've gained 45+ pounds. I am miserable, and every time I start to run, I twist my ankles and hurt my knee. It's so discouraging, and I fear I can never get back to where I once was. I am sorry, but I think that doing 1000 push-ups a day is terribly exhausting for your muscle fibres and in the long term it is rather downgrading muscles instead of building them. Doing 1000 chest touch to complete arm extension push-ups is rather stupid sorry. I would suggest variety and precision over quantity. Put on a weight vest if you want better results and more coherent movement coordination, mix it with balance exercises like planches, hand-stands while incorporating a healthy amount of cardio. Doing the exercise simply will not do but finding a diet which suits you the best provides enough nutrients and supplements for your body to regenerate should do suffice. Also, don't overwork yourself if you are starting but focus on the incorporation of consistency. If that means 20 minutes a day fine but dedicate that time to actually break a sweat. SLEEP. Sleep is a key ingredient to restore damaged and ripped muscle fibres in general and help your body to regenerate to sustain the energy output of your workouts. Lastly, take rest days or pure cardio days where you allow your body to be further restored from the pressure applied onto it. ( Like if you do 1000 pull-ups make a video because sounds truly exaggerated. That's not even hypotrophy but utter nonsense. ) Have a nice day and get yourself to train! :) Moving is the best thing you can do to your body and mind.
