New regulations on XL Bully ownership came into full effect at the beginning of February 2024, after staggered legislation changes since January. The law came as a response to a spate of horrific attacks which led to deaths. The new law has made it illegal to breed, sell, advertise, gift, exchange, abandon, or let XL Bully dogs stray. Existing owners had to register for exemption certificates or risk losing the dogs, and a criminal record.
Now one month into the XL Bully ban, has it made a difference to the number of dog attacks? Or have the rules lead to more danger? This is the full story so far.
