Great tutorial, very useful info! I'm not sure why, but when I replicate this effect, only the last pinwheel shows up, the rest of the pinwheels do not appear. Could it be the last layer with the pinwheel effect is masking the layers above? I've monkeyed around with the physical layout, and played with different layer effects but no luck.

You need to set the correct blending mode.

Im trying to have an shockwave go out across my whole display and as that goes out i want the twinkle effect to open as the shockwave goes out. Do I have to do something like this or is there a simpler way? Can't figure the layering out.

I am interested to learn how you achieved the effect shown at 4:10 in this example. Could you share that?

It is just 3 pinwheel effects with their position altered using the render buffer.

does the off effect always have to go at the top or can it go in between the group of effects?
