Love this video, I've stopped digging in the low 80's due to the penny factor, however after watching this I will go back to retrieving every 80 signal I hear. Really appreciate your effort on this, it has helped me a lot!

I went through 4 Garretts and 2 Fishers before i arrived at the Deus. I beats all comers. It's without exception the best machine i have used yet. The AT Pro was good but nothing like the Deus. I just don't like the constant chattering but at least you know your running a super sensitive and reliable light weight premium Detector. My pal has a Turkish Nokta, and they lay claim to similar performance but it's just not there. Since owning the Deus my valuable finds have risen substantially.

I currently own a Deus and running Ironbutt's 4K open program...and that's working well for me...Im still learning the machine...silver and gold are my main interest, theirs not much where I live as far as relic hunting ( civil war ). I think its going to be a rewarding detector. Thanks for your response and the video, it was of great help !

This is exactly what I wanted to see. I usually never find any rings. Never found gold. I'm going to watch the other videos too and then do a test of my own (v3.1) with Dutch coins and stuff. Cheers. Marc

Thanks for the VDI's. I started swinging the Deus on Aug 12th, and had to finally stay at one freq and one reactivity so I could figure out the sounds. I came from a Minelab, so the 3/4 tones is hard for me to get used to. I'm still working on bottle caps, pull tabs and foil. It hits those three as good signals alot. Looking forward to more videos. It DOES find gold, checkout my last video. Later, IronButt

Well done. Very thorough! My experience with the Deus here in Holland is that the VID numbers are almost useless. It could be an error on my part but I do find it frustrating. Since I want a water detector to compliment my Deus I thought I can either get a Minelab Excalibur 2 or sell my Deus and get the CTX 3030. As you said though, the 3030 sucks on small gold. The Deus however seems to only work if you're willing to dig up any high tone which means lots of trash.

To be fair I would need to know more of your hunting style and conditions. Both have their strengths and weaknesses. What type of hunting do you do?

Good video entertaining video. Confirms what some of us have been saying for over 4 years despite all the flack shot at us in the earlier days. A magic piece of kit once you understand its language. Bet Minelab/ Codan wish they had come up with this 21st century class detector. Sales have gone through the roof. Try the 11" coil and its even better. Happy Hunting.

new deus owner, never detected in my life. absorbing everyhing and tks for the videos. what you seem to have proved with this video is that the numbers are completely meaningless if a new nickel, a pull tab, and a gold ring all show the same number. perhaps there are differences in the sounds? i'll have to return to check. also, what is the crosshair-in-a-circle inside the horseshoe? sometimes it flashes but i could detect no pattern as to when it flashed. thanks, /guy

Hello. Bury those targets at 8 inches and try the test after. You will be blasted about the differences...

How do you not dig bottle caps all day with the Deus if they ring up so high? On my AT pro they ring up much lower (75) and they usually chirp. Im very interested because ive been thinking of getting a Deus. but based on this video not so much.

Slowly back your coil up on the target until the bottle cap is on the edge of your coil and you will hear your iron tone 80% of the time. I struggled with caps too until I watched a video about how to identify those damn caps... It works!

So I just got an AT PRO which I'll keep for water, but thinking of Deus vs E-trac, I hunt trashy sites a LOT and even though the E-trac looks to shine for deep coins, the Deus seems to kick both the E-trac and CTX in trash. Should I get the stock or 11" coil? Kinda would like an extra inch or so depth but still want to find goodies in trash. Thanks.

I had not had the opportunity to try the 11" coil, but given what I have read about it I would chose that one if you buy a XP Deus. I highly recommend Andy's book also. I absolutely love the Deus!!

Coming from a 2 year etrac user, I opted to sell it and get the dues. I did buy the 11inch coil. This whole thing about "deus" only good for trashy areas needs to stop. I had the ctx. It was not cracked out to what people made it. It could NOT outperform the etrac in overall depth. For some people all they think metal detecting is, is depth. I was one of those mindset persons. 75% of my finds where not past 5 or 6 inchs. Occasionally some were deep around 7-10 inchs but not often. With that being said the Deus does have the depth that everyone wants and capabilities. I could care less about the weight as a lot of people get the Deus for weight. I mainly wanted it for its fast recovery. Walking with the etrac for 2 years was just boring me. I hunted with a friend for over a year side by side and he uses a Deus. he never had anything before it to compare. I have. So Damian Dodd rest assure that Yes it will recover with great speed, it will get in between those trashy spots just fine and it does HAVE THE DEPTH. Its all about setting your detector up properly. p.s. I have seen garrett ace250 outperform minelabs in the fields because the garrets users turned on the easy set program and went on about hunting to whereas the minelab guys tweaked stuff they did not need to do and ultimately failed. I have seen this numerous times. Happy Hunting and I have faith youll love the Deus.

You made a good choice with the 11" I ended up getting a used Deus with a 9" then bought the 11" While I do put on the 9 for tight areas like woods and tot lots, the 11" is on 90% of the time. It's not about depth so much. The latest model 9 goes nearly as deep as the 11, it's more about coverage. For even more knowledge than Andy's book can give, attend one of his Bootcamps. I did this year and learned so much.
