2” bar risers, Fritzco sprocket & bigger foot pegs was the first thing I did. Its currently getting jetted, new exhaust, bark busters & new rubbers. I like that new color scheme but red rules. I love my XR650L….Ride safe!

I think the same thing. After tuning and putting an XRs Only oval exhaust on it, the sound is great and performance has improved. Just some minor tuning to get the jetting just right. It still sounds like an XR, but more responsive and a little more power. 🏁🔧

Too bad they stopped selling these in Canada! First bike was an '83 XR100 and I wanted to move up to the 650L. Just picked up a DR650 instead because people never sell their Hondas so they're hard to find. Awesome bike!

Hey how tall are you? The reason being so s that im 5'11 and i want an xr 650 also . I just wanted to know if thats the right height for that bike. Thank you
@mikeyerke3920
5 ай бұрын
I’m 6’1” 270lbs. That is the stock ride height on my bike. At 5’11” you should be fine. Even if you have a shorter inseam, you should still be good. In this video the bike was on the original Bridgestone tires, which are a lower profile than what I have on it now. The new tires are a bit taller on the sidewalls currently and that adds to the seat height by a small, but noticeable difference. Which is good for a guy my size. If the motorcycle seems to be a bit tall for you, they do sell lowering links for the rear suspension, and you can slide the front forks up in the triple trees. It seems a lot of riders have success with that setup. I hope this information helps! Feel free to ask any questions anytime, and good luck! 🏁

You ever go across country with it? I’m debating on getting one of these or a Harley
@mikeyerke3920
3 күн бұрын
@@stevo6891 I mostly ride locally on this one. My longest trip on one of these was 540mi in one day, but there’s definitely better bikes for doing that, the Honda Africa Twin would be a better choice if you want an adventure bike. These things (XRs) will do just about anything you ask them to do, but long rides are a bit uncomfortable compared to other options. The Honda’s will give you a lot less problems than a Harley will, for sure… I certainly wouldn’t recommend a Harley, but in the end, it’s really up to you. Personally, if I was going to spend Harley Davidson money, I’d get the Africa Twin. I hope that this helps! Good luck Stevo!

@@mikeyerke3920 I always liked both Honda and Harley but here lately I been seeing people upset with Harley Davidson.. See I was wanting a FatBoy or Road King but it’s like you are buying a new car.. @@stevo6891 I’ve had Harleys, but they were always a disappointment in one way or another. Especially corporate, they don’t care about the consumers, they care about money. The quality is always disappointing too. It’s a shame. Honda has never let me down, I own eight Hondas currently, from weed eaters, a generator, an S2000 (which is an amazing sports car) classic and new motorcycles, and they’ve all been good to me. I still have my first Honda, which turned 50yrs old this year! That’s just my opinion/experience though. You have to do what makes you happy… In my experience, I’ve just found the Hondas to be more fun, and certainly more reliable. You’ve made me very curious to find out what you choose! Haha! Good luck in whatever you decide!
