I got the Xreal air 2 pro last year on a friend's recommendation, and it's amazing with my Steam Deck! Honestly, it's even better than the official OLED screen because it offers a huge, clear display. However, I've noticed that Xreal's influence is being overtaken by other brands, which is a real shame. I've tried other AR glasses brands like rokid and viture , and they can't even get proper binocular focus. In terms of technical capabilities, XREAL is far ahead of the others. But now, why is this happening? You guys should really reflect on this~~~~

@@phandroid You don't get any of the extended features on a PC like pinned or slow follow display (which sometimes helps w/ motion sickness). No multi-screen support either. And for things like a Switch, well, used it as an external power supply in that scenario. So yes, there is a use-case for either Beam it seems. Honestly, the old Beam has not been as useful since I just plug directly into the PC as you said and the only thing I liked was the slow-follow. But if I used it w/ my phone (which I don't and DEX seems to not really be a great option yet if I did) I really don't need the Beam Pro either except the 3D picture thing which seems neat. Each their own I guess, but at $150 (existing Beam user discount) I might be tempted just to have it as a "in-bed" type device where I don't have to use my laptop and stream ESPN or KZitem TV.

I don't know if it's a scam, but it is grossly and disgustingly overpriced for something pretty simple. I just bought it today, and I do like the product. But it literally cost me more for glasses that simply put a screen in front of you then it does to buy an entire VR Quest 3. Like why would that be a thing? It's nasty. And then in order to stop the screen from bobbing around every time I move I would have to spend $120 plus tax to get the old Beam, for a feature that should be part of the original glasses anyway? Not only that but they don't even have a good product. The old beam lets me wire into something like the Nintendo switch or directly into my Galaxy phone for Dex which is my preferred setup. But, it only lasts a couple of hours on battery and you can't charge it and use it at the same time. In order to do that you would need to buy the new Beam Pro, which DOES use and charge simultaneously, but no longer allows for wired connection. 😂 So now the new one is basically a portable media, which I don't want. I already have a great phone, I don't need a subpar Media Center to lug around. And if I do want to use Dex, I'd need to stream it which is an inferior experience. So my choices are an old version which does what I want but in an inferior way, or a new version which has something I want but does not let me achieve the setup I prefer. What are they thinking? And then you add on top of it the dongles and adapters. So if I want the Air Pro 2 and the old Beam, it's going to set me back like $600, before anything else. And ultimately I get a screen in front of my face in a pair of glasses. Yes, it's a good idea, yes I want it and yes I like it. But are they insane? It's nice for games and media and potentially productivity. But I tried their Nebula software on my Surface Pro, thinking it would be great to use that somewhere out and about and then have a couple of floating productive screens. But it's janky as anything. Slow, not smooth, a little shaky... I couldn't use it. It's a shame, really. I'd obv prefer the Quest if it wasn't so annoying to wear that device strapped to your head. I think this particular device is a good idea but has a long way to go, and in the meantime the price that they are charging is actually offensive.
