Thank you for sharing your experience with this cookware. I have not seen this before and I do a fair amount of research on this topic. This was very helpful. I’m trying to cook without oil. It is so difficult to balance all the health risks. I imagine you can use a steamer basket in one of these pots to steam vegetables. Right? Thanks again.

Hi! I am so glad you found this helpful:)Yes you can definitely use a steamer basket! I would just make sure it doesn't touch the bottom of the pot, and that you have a fair amount of water so the water doesn't evaporate quickly and over heat the pot. Hope that helps:)

They are pretty easy I just use a Brillo pad when needed for some food items, but I also let it soak with dish soap and that has helped.

Hi! I’ve had this cookware for a few months but have trouble with it when something burns a little on it, a lot of the food I cook needs to be on the stove for 3 hours at a time and more often than not something will burn. How do you handle this? Because it’s sooooo hard to scrape off in my experience 😞

Im I know what you mean. That has happened to me too depending on the oil and heat setting. I have actually used butter and avocado oil and it has worked well for me depending on what I am cooking. With butter I use low temp and avocado medium heat. Also I will soak the skillet if that happens and then I will use a Brillo pad to scrub. It definitely takes some playing around but I have been using them now for 5 years and it doesn't happen very often for me. Hope that helps!

By far the easiest way to clean any cookware is to heat clean water in it on the stovetop to near boil. Burned food scrapes of with no effort. Burning food is a result of not enough oil, too high heat, or lack of stirring.

@@patob3363 Hi there! I think it depends on the oil and what you are cooking. Overall coconut oil /avocado oil seems to work the best for me. These have held up really well over the last several years and I only use them to this day. I have broken one pot, and their customer service is amazing!

Hi .. you mentioned that you can’t put any frozen food in the Pan. I guess you meant when the pot is already hot. But how about if I put the frozen vegetables in the pot before heating it up. ? Also you mentioned that I have to add oil to the pan .. so if I want to use vegetable broth to sauté the veggies I can’t ? Please let me know thanks 😊
@hashimami3051

they say not to do that because it can cause the pan to crack. I actually put a little bit of water in the pan and slowly heat it up with some frozen veggies sometimes and it has worked fine for me. you can definitely use some vegetable broth to sauté the veggies but I would also add a little oil beforehand and mix it in.Hope this helps:)

How do you know the glaze is nontoxic? Just because Xtrema says it's nontoxic doesn't mean it is. The pan is made in China. What kind of quality control does Xtrema have? I'm intrigued but not convinced.

Thats an important and real concern that I agree should be there. The owner actually talks about his experience going and picking out the manufacturing facility and the legitimacy of the process. Thats why I was drawn to this company initially. I heard his interview on the Wellness Mama podcast. If you search for it he gives all the details. Also they are a very transparent family owned company that will provide information if you reach out to them directly too. Hope that helps!

@@hashimami3051 The thing is too that ceramic is ceramic. What is this ceramic mixed with to make it so hard and smooth and non-stick. Yes, ceramic is the new teflon but what are these pans really made from?

@@davidhunternyc1 Xtrema is very transparent so I would reach out to them for those details. I trust their process when they have explained it on their website and interviews. Again I think those are great questions and concerns.

@@hashimami3051 If Xtrema was transparent they would publish third party testing. We've already been through this before with GreenPan. "Green" being the unproven word. Ceramic is made from clay. It's that simple.

@@davidhunternyc1 They do publish 3rd party testing on their website. Also, their cookware is not the latest “ceramic” coated nonstick cookware that has come to market. Their cookware is 100% ceramic. They do not claim to be nonstick.

Lovely video! The sound is a little low.... I have one concern: Xtrema cookware is made in China, I believe, which is very worrying to me, the ethical issues aside. Even though a company says in good faith that it has stringent oversight for the manufacturing process in China so no contamination of base materials occurs, I do not trust any communist system to keep the process clean. Otherwise, I would love ceramic cookware to replace my older stainless steel pots.

Thank you! Yes I see where you are coming from. I had the same concern. I learned about this company while listening to a podcast by Wellness mama who had the founder on her show. He personally went to china and visited the manufacturer and provides information about that I believe on his website. They are very transparent and I'm sure would provide more information about their manufacturing process etc. I do understand the concern you have and the trust especially during these times.

@@hashimami3051 Thank you for your reply! Yes, I realize that some of these companies try their best to be transparent and monitor the manufacturing process in China. Unfortunately, even if the head of the company visits the manufacturer a few times a year, the day-to-day process is left unmonitored except by the local Chinese managers. The innumerable stories and scandals over the years that have surfaced around Chinese-made goods have really shown the Western world that for most of the Chinese leaders of companies, human life is of no value. I also grew up in a Central European communist country, and know first hand what such a political system is like so I don't trust anything coming out of Chinese factories....

I totally agree! It's good until it's not. There have been too many instances of Chinese made pet foods & treats causing animal deaths AND same with baby food, if that's even imaginable. To me, just not worthy of my trust and taking the chance.
