Kate and Paul are so lovely 😍 good to see British ppl like our Cantonese home dishes. They even manage to use chopsticks ! Kate is so pretty and seems keeping a very balanced diet. Paul is charm, handsome and has good sense of humor. I love shrimp crisps too although it’s actually Indonesian food. Yuk please continue to promote real Cantonese food to British ppl, let them know it’s more delicate than Chinese take away! Cheers ❤️

我建議少說Chinese Food 改為強調Cantonese Food or Hong Kong style 會令外國更明白,畢竟我以前去大陸西部地區出差,好多時食野只有辡和䶢兩種味,根本不能跟沿海地區色香味都多樣化可比,還有潮式,滬菜,廣式,相似之中都強調新鮮,但著重點有分別,起番茄炒蛋應該係原生香港菜

Basically all British adults are no strangers to Chinese food, from the obligatory sweet and sour pork to fried rice to aromatic duck. (and the jumbo spring rolls in Chinese takeaway) 魚香茄子for me it is not a home dish, my mum never made 魚香茄子at home, 豉汁排骨is. Actually 魚香茄子is popular for British locals and often I could see they had it at Chinese restaurants. Many British can handle chopsticks, mainly because of sushi and ramen (look at how many Wagamama there are in Britain and Australia.).

A Yuk嘅廚藝唔錯喎👍🏻,得到英國人endorse,其實濃味嘅小菜幾啱外國人,排骨佢哋可以撈汁, 番茄炒蛋同 魚香茄子冇骨,更加可以 送到飯,魚香茄子直情係我嘅最愛 (另一味係 麻婆豆腐), 難怪Paul話可以日日都食😆,第一味青瓜有啲似京菜多過南方嘅小菜,下次我建議可以整咕嚕肉,應該都好啱外國人食,一試就愛上.😋

Version of the origin that I heard: The "fish flavour" isn't actually fish flavoured. It is because the sauce/style was originally for a fish dish, so it should actually be fish "style" aubergine.

@@matthewdong9368 what I had read previously is that the hot/spicy/salty/fragrant sauce was so that not so fresh fish could be cooked eaten.
