My first digital camera was the Kodak Dc5000. 2.1 mp ( yr. 2000) I did not have much of transition, at the time, I was using a Konica C35 film camera, I was doing photography to record family events and general travel. Bought an early battery pack and spent so much money on CF cards. they were expensive. The Dc5000, still works and I still pull it out once in awhile. The CCD sensor colour pop is great. Been buying digicams as well as new DSLR, I do look for CCD sensors in the 5-10 mp range, I find I like the look. I generally shoot more like I have a film camera now and don't use burst modes. Great video and Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing your experiences. It's really nice to read your account and I too have a preference for CCD sensors and in many ways it might all boil down to our early experiences. Thanks for watching and appreciate your kind words!

I have been shooting with older digital cameras for some months now, one of them is a 2003 Minolta and its simply wonderful!

They are a blast to shoot especially in today's "perfect everything" camera world. Thanks for sharing your experiences, I appreciate it!

@@cameralegend1033 Yes! You have to 'live' with the not perfect results which is beautiful. The Minolta for example has a strong 'vintage' green tone in the daylight white balance but it feels natural, its wonderful. After these Minolta impressions i got a little Sony a200, still with a ccd sensor. its a fully capable camera for even today's standars in my opinion, but also the a200 has a special taste to it, which my standard camera (5DMkII) simply doesnt have, this one is much more neutral, and clean (except all the sensor dirt haha).

@@ThomasL.116 These old cameras do tend to either push green or magenta or bleed red sometimes yes. The A200 I've not used but I suspect it may have the sensor as the A100 which was a great first attempt at DSLR by Sony. Appreciate you sharing your thoughts and experiences, lots of fun with these vintage cameras! 😍📸👍

Sorry to hear that! Yeah that was quite a jerk move on his part. The Kodak should be good though, I had it a few years back. Good picture take, and I liked the way it looks!

Wow, man. Thanks so much for this live personal reflection, reconstruction, and re-enactment of your first digital photography. Thought provoking as always. About what year do you think digital cameras matched film resolution? Or let's say, when digital began to match film, for most (not all) applications. PS I'm saving this under "photography" and also "psychology" because you visited the Karen Horney Clinic.

Thanks Number Six for watching and for your kind words! I'm not sure when it technically matched film or 35mm film I should say but I know a lot of people felt it was over when digital hit 10 megapixels. If I had to say, the nail in the coffin came when the 36mp cameras came out around 2012 with the Nikon D800e, it was over! But it really was over before then. As for the Horney Clinic, I just happened to pass the place and thought it was funny though I could use psychological help 😂 Thanks always for your commentary, I appreciate it! ❤️🙏👍

@@cameralegend1033 Self-disclosure, Karen Horney is one of my heroes. The reason the clinic's still there after these years is because she was a very big deal!

@@numbersix8919 Number Six you are so cool! Honestly when I took this shot in 2003 I had no idea who Karen Horney was. I just thought it sounded funny 😂 little did I know she was a big name in psychoanalysis. As a person fascinated by human psychology I now have the deepest respect for her...and you! 😍🙏👍

@@cameralegend1033 Not at all sir. Although her name is funny in America, it's kind of true ;) The clinic is a teaching clinic and offers affordable talk therapy to the public. Can you dig it! ⛏ I knew that you could.✊🏼
