Marina Beach, or simply the Marina, is a natural urban beach on the Bay of Bengal in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The beach stretches for 6.0 kilometers from near Fort St. George in the north to Foreshore Estate in the south, making it the world's second longest urban beach after Cox's Bazar Beach. It is a well-known landmark in Chennai.
The Marina is largely a sandy beach, with an average width of 300 m (980 ft) and a maximum width of 437 m. (1,434 ft). Bathing and swimming are illegal at the Marina due to the dangers posed by the strong undercurrent. It is one of the most popular beaches in the country, attracting over 30,000 people daily.
