I was so happy when they tossed me back to Freelancer for this fight and removed all of Kasugas imagination. He saw the world real in this fight. I also had leveled up Freelancer alot so giving Masato the german suplex of justice was so satisfying!

A battle between brothers, both left in lockers, one out of shame and a wish to be disposed of, and one out of love and protection, both clawed their way from the very bottom to the top, one through his own will and skill and one through the help of many loving allies and friends, now they both stand at the pinnacle, both koi, both wishing to go even further beyond, but as before, and so now. there can only be one dragon.
@YourCrazyDolphin
Fun fact: Masato throws a short tantrum every time Kasuga manages to dodge his attack, easily observed by just using hyper swagger to bump up evasion.

I had a hard time believing the young master and Aoki were the same person. The design felt like two different people, which was the point. This is definitely my favorite Yakuza. Ichibans story felt like a breath of fresh air

As someone who has difficulty walking/been wheelchair bound since birth, Waka is the first Yakuza antagonist to speak to me on a personal level. I know what it's like to be seen by people in the way that Yumeno saw Waka and trust me, that's not a good feeling. The only things that really separate us, aside from Waka being fictional, duh, is the fact that he was able to fix his disability and had the money and resources to literally become a different person, something which I will never have. Maybe if I did, I can say for certain that I probably would have made similar choices to the ones he made, and discovering that as I played through the game sent a chill down my spine. Ironically enough the parallels between Waka and I continue to how we view the world. Where Waka wanted to Bleach out the Gray Zones, my whole philosophy is to empower the Gray Zones so that they can stand on equal footing with the ivory towered stalwarts in their blindingly white citadels. It would be foolish of me to say that this is in no way affected by my desire to get back at people who belittled me, but unlike Waka it is not my only driving force, it also comes from a deep seeded knowledge of what it feels like to be stuck there, and to make sure no one has to ever suffer that pain again, something I hope Ichi would be proud of.

I absolutely love how his intro actually says Masato Arakawa instead of Ryo Aoki.

That feel when you level up all jobs, and each attack is from a different job, it Really hammers down the progression you've done as Ichiban.. and it feels amazing with this theme

Young master's death is the most heartbreaking end in gaming history... Man I finish the gane again and again watching every cutscene. I freaking love this game. RGG proved that gaming development and gaming is an art

Ichiban, the man that never lost himself, a nobody that kept his values to the bitter end, fought for his friends and the weakest, never backing down from adversity even if all the odds were against him, finally climbed on top of the millenium tower and overcame a dragon, beating him and with that becoming a dragon himself, like the legend of the Dragon Koi climbing the waterfall, the symbol on his back.

A crippled son of a Yakuza leader, he clawed his way out of his wheelchair to rise and stand on his own. Before his transformation he was called rude and spoiled, now he is revered and respected as "a man of virtue" and "symbol of justice"

I admit, I didn't German Suplex him over and over... ... ... I instead spammed Atomic Drop, his punishment was to have a very sensitive area of his body repeatedly demolished.

May have not been the best fight in the game but damn coupled by the story and music made it really memorable one of my favorite game endings of all time and definitely up there in the best yakuza games
