You are a tech, I am a squid. Pass over some knowledge. On the Bolt, I was scared of the wobble. Also the Zip ties on the handle bars killed me. And that speedometer glare! Kills me! What do you think about the quality of the bike? Why do you like the bike? Thanks in advance. Cheers!

@@SmallSpoonBrigade Not a bad bike to buy man. if i was looking for a first bike or a fun daily sure but if i wanna do some real customization id go for a sporty just because there are alot of parts that fit right out of the box. these custom bolts you see usually have alot of parts from other bikes cause not alot of companies are making parts for it.
@BigSexyWizard
4 жыл бұрын
@@Tony-bv7gz Zip ties aren't an issue they are used in the factories, by techs, and by dudes in their garage if it works, try to keep it simple. The glare is easy some nonglossy clear tape should help. The wobble I'm not sure about cause I'm not a bolt tech but that can be tire pressure-related. tires, brakes, suspension those are the three things u don't wanna cheap out on cause those are the critical pieces that can kill you if your not careful and you buy cheap crap. so I would recommend you buy a tire pressure gauge they are like a dollar at an auto parts store maybe 2 dollars. Check your air pressure about once a week. IDK what the factory specs are but I would recommend 35 psi in the front and 40psi in the rear. if you're low on air pressure it can certainly cause a wobble. As far as a review I've ridden one a few times but mechanically I think they are fantastic. It's a simple air cooled v twin with dual shocks and telescopic front forks. I won't say Yamaha didn't copy Harley cause they did but the only real and significant difference is Harleys are pushrod under head cam designs and the Yamaha uses an overhead cam design. either one will work reliably just the Japanese are better at overhead cam designs and after Harley sued Yamaha for copying their v twin pushrod designs they are a lot more careful about the bike designs now. But like my original comment, it's a modern-day interpretation of a Sportster. I hope this helps some and id be glad to help you anyway i can.

The Yamaha Bolt was my first bike. (1st was actually 30yrs ago so I'm counting this one as first.) I really enjoyed the bike. It is a good solid machine with Yamaha reliability. The air intake drove me crazy. Every bump it hit me in the knee so I traded it in for a 2019 Indian Scout and haven't looked back. They aren't really a fair comparison. I know they are relatively close in size etc., but the Scout is twice the cost and it shows. The Scout also has adjustable shocks and once they are dialed in for your weight, the ride is amazing. Until you get it right, it can actually be painful. Long story short, I enjoyed this Bolt, but love the Scout. It fits me better and handles better. Just my .02. I enjoy your videos, keep them coming. Thanks.

Mid-controls always give better handling than forward controls. It's just basic physics. Take a snow-skiing lesson and you will literally get feel for it. Learning to slalom ski will improve your motorcycle riding abilities, especially in the mountain twisties.

I have a SCR950, same bike. Its a great around town bike. It really needs a 6th gear but I actually rode is across the country once. Zero issues. Just be careful with the belt drive. Replacement belts are hella expensive. Lol Very fun, reliable bike. The foot pegs scrape so early the bike makes you feel loke your fly'n.

*Belts arent really more expensive than any other belts. But im just not a belt drive guy so that was the first time I had to expreiance belt prices.

Chain conversion kit would be probably best on a SCR950?

I like it. Would definitely have to put forward controls on. Way too scrunched up.

My knees would be high on that, like the S40 Boulevard I had years ago that was painful to ride more than an hour. With a springer seat at maybe 29-30" high I'd be happy.
