I have the DXR12s and one DXS15. I cannot stress how much I love this system. It's loud, efficient, and to be honest quite sexy. They look great up on stands and as Arnoldo said, for smaller cabs, these things pound when cranked up. I only have one sub and it provides plenty of bass for a 300+ person dance.

Excellent video Arnoldo. I've been in love with the DXR series since I first tested/reviewed them when they first came out. After the reviews, I ended up buying two pairs of tops and a pair of subs I liked them so much! They are currently my all-time favorite speaker line. The flexible mixer is awesome as is the super sound quality and warranty. Al

Hi Arnoldo. How should I connect 1 Dxs12 with 2 dxr10? Mixer-dxr10-dxs12 left and right? Or mixer-dxs12-dxr10 using both left and right outputs from dxs12? Just input 1 xlr will be used in any case. Thanks for your reply.
@MrJace-co2fc

Run your output from mixer to sub first. Run left out from mixer to input left in, and do the same for the right side. Run another xlr cable out from sub to your tops. Left out thru from sub to left tops input , and do the same for the right side. You're sub will play in mono which is a good thing while you're tops will be in stereo.

The DXS15 weighs 84 pounds. The DXS12 weighs 73 pounds and is smaller. Overall the DXS15 hits harder. However the 12 will give you that bass that you are missing with your tops. You can get away with one 15 sub but you will want to have two 12 inch subs. I would get the 15 if size and weight are ok. The EV ETX15 and 18 are in another class. I am talking about a whopping 134 or 135 db along with an 1800 watt amplifier. Again if you don't mind the weight definitely get the ETX15 or 18. EV has once again raised the bar!

Do you think the 12 inch subs will fill the gap in frequencies and provide a warm sound. I am also a mobile Dj, and I Cant afford to carry big 18 subs...

I'm due an upgrade to a intermediate or pro level. Heard alot about the DXR series. What would be your recommendation I note comments indicate in getting a 12 with a 15 sub to give a warm mid range. However I may not always want to carry a sub and question if a pair of DXR15s would be better as stand alone for 100-150 people. If a sub is required would it be better to go for a single DXS 18 or 2 DXS15s. The application is for mobile DJ RnB, Hip Hop, Urban Bhangra etc.

Arnoldo Offermann Could you confirm the model number of the Sub? Struggling to find it only the DXS12? Really like your videos. You said you love the sub and the power. What would you think about using these as part of a rental stock? Do you think they could hold up to the sort of bashing and bumping which occurs with hire kit? Cheers, Alex

Arnoldo Offermann This is the only area where I'm going to have to disagree with you. I absolutely love everything about the DXRs and DXS EXCEPT the very weak and fragile finish. You put these in a rental dept., they are going to look like crap very quickly. I own DXR8s, DXR15s as well as a pair of DXS12s and absolutely love 'em, but man the finish is fragile. Covers highly recommended! Al
@GearItFirst
10 жыл бұрын
Al- I was thinking more of the actual components handling abuse vs the outside. In my experience, most rental houses get their equipment abused to hell and back anyways. I've not experienced issues with my finish.. I did scratch the hell out of it, but that's because someone didn't pack it right. My BOSE rig was more fragile in terms of finish.... but covers should be bought for everything, IMO.
@alpoulin1
10 жыл бұрын
Arnoldo Offermann Absolutely. I have no worries about the transducers being able to stand up to abuse because of the excellent (NEXO) processing built-in. It is very transparent and I love not having to worry about it.

Hey Arnoldo, I know this video's pretty old and you might not be replying to comments on it anymore but I figured what's the herd and trying! I have a pair of the DRX 12's and DRX 10's. I've had them for several years now and they were great. Mostly do smaller events. Want to upgrade to a set up for medium size events: outdoors and halls. I use a cheap 12 inch sub with my DRX 10's, but I'm considering an upgrade to some real Subs. There's an old set of used DSX 15's selling for $450 each. I was considering buying one or possibly two four different setups (1 DSX 15 with 2 DRX 10's or 2 DSX 15's with 2 DXR 12's). With what I have, would you consider this a wise purchase at this point for these particular subs or should I save my money for an updated system? Also, do you recommend the use of a dbx driverack (also looking into these units) for this type of PA setup or is that Overkill as the speakers are already tuned for each other? Thanks so much if you are able to answer!
@GearItFirst

Hey there! I don’t use DBX and wouldn’t, personally. You’re adding processing on top of processing. DXS15s are a solid upgrade over a cheap 12” sub. I would check with dealers to make sure $450 for a used sub with no warranty is a good price.

@GearItFirst
9 жыл бұрын
+Frank Pirolo Average rating. This is for all amps. Think about it, at normal volumes, you're not pushing ANYWHERE near 700W. Also, most of the power is quickly gathered is the caps and then released at those bursts. This is much different from PEAK where it's even less than that. 90W is also at 120V, I've no idea what the voltage going into the speaker is, but I'm guessing it's not 120V.
