*Trying out a new intro on this video, let me know what you think. It's my first attempt.
After logging 10,000 kms, its time to step back and caption the ownership experience of my 2015 Yamaha FJ-09 (known in most other parts of the world as the MT-09 Tracer or Tracer 900). Basically, the few shortcomings it has as delivered are fairly easily remedied and the result is worth the effort of getting them sorted. In my opinion, upgraded suspension, sport screen and seat upgrades are a must. I also recommend removing the handguards if you like to open it up for a blast over 100mph (160 kmh) on occasion, as this cured the wobble for me. An ECU reflash is also worth every penny of the cost, as the bike is much smoother and more powerful after. The factory rear tire does not seem to last most owners very long and mine was no exception, as it needed replacement at 6000 km. I have mixed feelings about the Michelin Pilot Road 4 I replaced it with, and I may do a separate video about that. In summary, I am very pleased with my Yamaha FJ-09 after 10K and will keep it for some time to come. If you are looking for a lightweight touring option that has sporty performance, this may be the bike for you.
