Hey Jonas, I have watched several of your videos primarily because you appear to be knowledgeable and articulate when you give info./instructions. Also, no fluff or unnecessary and distracting background music! I am a retired carpenter/cabinetmaker and as a habit, pay very close attention to details, and you do the same and I like that! Keep up the good work!

I have a quick question. My yamaha g29 goes like 1 mile per hour with the accelerator fully depressed. This happens intermittently. I have replaced the solenoid and battery. Starter tests good. The cart just putts and goes nowhere. No sign of fuel leak. Any ideas?

Hey I have a 1997 yamaha golf cart it has great power when you jump on it and go, but when you drive it for a little it loses power runs pretty slow Do you by chance know what the issue could be

I would start by checking valve clearance first, then doing a compression test. You could even check it when the engine is cold vs hot. This will help you determine if your engine is getting worn out, or if you need to look at other possible issues.

My g29 drive is backfiring. I got it from a golf course. I changed the apark plug, air filters, both belts, and put seafoam in tbe tank. It is still backfiring. Could adjusting the valves solve my issue?

Your backfire issue is most likely being caused by the carburetor not completely closing when you let off the pedal. This could be caused by the throttle cables/governor or a dirty carb. Check cable adjustment first. If they are good, then do a carb clean.

Have you done any videos on how to make Yamaha gas golf carts quieter. I'm moving to a golf cart community where most carts run at 20 mph.

If you are looking to buy a gas cart and want it quiet, then go for the Yamaha Quietech model. Quietest gas carts ever built. If you get a fleet model, they will do 20 mph with the governor turned up. If you get the PTV model it will do 25 mph. If you already have a G29 model, there really isn't much you can do to easily quiet them down and they are slower.

Very nice video! What are the expected gains after completing this adjustment? Speed, torque, fuel mileage? Thank you

Valve adjust are just part of regular maintenance. It should be checked after the first 25 hours, then every 100 hours after that. If you don't have an hour meter, just check it every two years or so depending on how much you use your cart. You most likely won't notice much difference in performance. Thanks for watching!

Hey Jonas, Have you ever done a throttle body clean and mad sensor clean on a petrol Yamaha? Is it recommended? Thanks
@PowerEquipmentMan
Жыл бұрын
I have sprayed down the throttle body with suspension cleaner (brake cleaner). There really isn't any thing you can "clean" on a MAP sensor and you probably wouldn't want to get any fluid inside of it.

So this applies to my 22 UMAX 2+2 motor as well? It’s a bigger motor

Yes, the 402 engine is the same. Set it to .006" as well. Thanks for watching!

Why have I seen opening it more like 10-12 thousand. Especially after you have changed your clutch weights and secondary spring??

You will often see fully built high RPM engines that need more valve clearance to help deal with valve float and can have an effect on low RPM performance. Those types of engines also require a lot more regular maintenance to keep them in spec. Some places will tell you to adjust your valves while the engine is HOT which also changes the number you would set it too - .006" cold is around .008" when hot. Most people don't really enjoy burning their fingertips trying to adjust hot valves.

Nice, but you don't describe why this is important to do.

Adjusting valves is part of Yamaha's regular maintenance schedule. Having valves that are too tight or lose can cause decreased performance. Thanks for watching!
