Can you get bad vibrations from the secondary clutch? Having issues under load on my phazer

Oh yea, that’s probably a button broke off or possibly broken spring, although I’ve never see a secondary spring break. Take it apart it’s pretty easy and buttons are available.

When you pre wind the clutch there are you winding it over the next button over? Or how do you do that?

I have a phazer 480 and I put on a new belt now the track spins when it idles. But there is already two shims on there. Can I add a third or is something else the problem?

Would taking washers out fix how tight my belt is

@@raygarland7569my belt was to tight and the track would spin with out any throttle. What ended up being the problem was not those washers. But actually on the primary clutch there are three plastic bushing that guide the spider. And they had melted and were not letting the clutch go apart far enough. So before you remove washers I advise checking the primary clutch.

Is setting the spring in B2 the stock setting?

It depends on the sled, what year is yours?

@@phazerworld6300 1989 with long track and blue-yellow spring. Also do you know how hot your phazer clutches goes after a bit of hard riding? My primary inner sheave gets really hot. Even now with aligned clutches and new belt with good deflection.

@@phazerworld6300 According to a manual I found, B1 seems to be the stock setting.

@@dankuspanku4650 B1 is quite common, if it’s not feeling right you can go to C2, that’s the next step up. Those clutches get pretty hot. Use 2 shims for a new belt, 0 or 1 shim as it wears, I run old belts all the time with 1 shim. A new belt with no shims will run hot and the sled will shift weird, it might even flip the belt over. Run Yamaha belts if possible C2 is also what the long track Phazer ST is set to at stock
