Most of my TRF group are running T7s now. Lots of lanes have been sanitised and, combining that with the number of closed lanes, which means more tarmac between lanes, they're the perfect answer for most. I'm still running an old DR350 that hits the ground a LOT though.

At this price surely the Aprilia Tuareg 660 is a better option? Italian noise and tons more equipment. Haven't ridden either, but on paper the Tuareg makes much more sence to me. Cruise control + a ton of riding aids and different driving/rider modes as standard as well ++. Nothing in stock anywhere so hard to actually test any of them :) Keep in mind I'm not an experienced off road rider, thinking more as a potential new buyer who would get one to go on long trips but also the occational gravel roads.

I just hate the look of these things I mean I so want one but I also would wish one of these manufacturers to strip it down and get rid of the front ends on these things the pig ugly let’s face it we all know the ktm 950 superenduro r is the best looking most exciting off-road beast ever made don’t believe me check eBay when they come up for sale there now going for £11-17k way more than original rrp, there already a classic if we can have a 950cc stripped back bike then I’m sure a 700 can be, just make the front end clean and I would buy one tomorrow, because at the minute all in doing is trying to source parts to change the front, I totally get what that front end is doing but who wants to go 100mph on knobbly’s and off road mere mortals don’t have the balls to go 80-100 off road, just have it as an all day stripped back FUN machine stop wrapping it up to look like it can do a job that no one is going to achieve or enjoy for that matter

I think you nailed your conclusion in that review Al. I started riding on 125 2t trail bikes and progressed into bigger 4t trail bikes before getting serious about road bikes and dedicated dirt bikes. Decades later it strikes me that the Tenere is, again, a bike for all seasons. Ride to work during the week and then fling it through the twisties on the way to some proper trail riding at the weekend. Get home knackered, covered in crap and scant chicken strips. Perfick.
