If only more motorcyclists could enjoy motorcycles like these guys, instead of crying online about the fact X brand didn't install grip heaters.

In the 80s, there were so many people cruising on freeways, in cities and on desert roads or jungle tracks all on this single bike. They didn't have slipper clutches, heated grips, quickshifters, abs or traction control or even good brakes or tires. If it broke, you could fix it with some spit, duct tape and some glue. I was one of those. Biking was a lot more fun back then.

Nothing beats them, these were my bikes of my teens. Always looked on with envy, someone along my street had a XL500, and I was stuck with 50’s and 125’s

I had a '76 XT500 identical to the one Chris is on! I always used to say it would climb a telephone pole if it could get enough traction. 😂 It wasn't hard to start once you got the hang of it.

I had one of these my last year of high school in 1986. I learned to ride on it. My mom bought it for me because I wasted so much time riding the city bus home from school. I had a red XT550. Did alot of exploring on that bike.

I had one in 1976 till 1980. Easy to start . . . cold. But once warm, it could be very hard to start. My shin remembers that one very well.

Yes, hard to start anywhere between cold and hot. At both ends of that spectrum, easy. Mine was a 1981 model.

Nice control ! I remember one of those attacking my ankle, when I tried to start it. It wasn't the same as my KE175.

Sold mine as it was hard to start when hot. And off road it got very hot. Had to wait for it to cool down many times. The xt 350 always started.
