Been doing really well on the yamatanuki in 3.5 for largemouth. Saw the smaller version and plan on throwing this for smallmouth as well. Super interesting bait and it's different than what fish are used to. I get bit on every cast with the larger size it seems, small and big fish both eat it.

Hey live to fish if they catch fish I'm not worried so much about the durability Yamamoto baits have always been not the most durable. But they catch a lot of fish . Thanks for the informative video and God bless you and your family.

The 3.5” shines for me on the 4/0 EWG. Weightless it punches mats and works great flipping too. The 2.5” was a bit light to use weightless (use a 2/0 hook) for where I was fishing it, but when I decided to try it on the ned it was very productive. Good luck and let me know what you think.

I have the 3.5, rigged with the 4 ewg hook and the durability was in question as soon as I inserted the hook. It had a hollow feeling and after a few casts, it was sliding down the hook. Could be user error so I'm going to keep working it and see what happens. Hard to outperform the senko though 🔥

They look sweet. Havent fished them. If i had to pick i'd go 2.5. Im confident in the ned, I like the smaller profile and im not a fan of a ⅝ oz plastic alone. Great advice with that side rigging techniche. Thanks for going over the practicalities of it as well with the durability, pack size and price. Great vid overall, love this style!
