This is my cover of the beautiful song by Yazoo: Don't Go Extended Version Second Part. I hope you enjoy it ;) Played with YAMAHA CS1x and other free VST synthesizers
This replica is so accurate that I Initially thought you were just pretending to play over the original recording, basically making a fool of us. I changed my mind at 3:01, that sound is not 100% like the original (was it on purpose?), that proves this is a replica with an insanely high amount of detail. I've been looking for covers of this specific song since when youtube came out, I always ended up with good but not very interesting covers of this song. The main trumpet-like sound, is a nightmare to program, that texture is really hard to achieve. I don't know which sounds were programmed with the cs-1x and which ones with the vsts, but the final result is mind-blowing. The reverb, the way the sounds are mixed together... congrats, sono senza parole!

You have a really good ear for detail!!!! The sound I don't like on this track is exactly what you said. This was one of my first recreations and I didn't have much experience yet. It's true, the brass that Vince Clarke created, is a really particular sound to recreate!! In the future, I intend to do "Don't Go" album version, to be able to put into practice everything I have learned in these years and create a version as close as possible to the original. Another one I'd like to do is "Situation"... I love it!!! THANK YOU OF HEART MATE, FOR HAVING APPRECIATED MY PASSION FOR MUSIC AND FOR YOUR COMMENT, REALLY SPECIAL!!! Un grande saluto :) :) :)

The main Trumpet lead is with Sequential Circuits Pro-one... Only the Pro-One can accurately replicate it. I had a Pro-One before and loved replicating and playing that lead. Also its the same sound used on Situations. Perhaps one of the newer Sequentials like the Prophet-6 can get close, but I have not tried.

@@KOSmusicovers I think I’ve been successfull by replicating the main riff of the Pro-One with my Nord Wave. But yes.. relly true it’s a very difficult sound to achieve 😉

Can never get old as it was 100 years ahead of 1982 when it came out. I was astounded that a song could stand up so strong with no real instruments on it. And know most of this was done using a Pro ONE is even more impressive.

I have a Hammond organ, and a Korg Monologue, looking to get my hands on a Casio MT-40 for that classic Dance-hall sound.

WOOWWWW, DANIEL!!!!!!!
