I can only hope more people do stuff like this, taking advantage of really cool old game ideas and enhancing them, there's so much potential that was left behind in search of adding a higher poly count to a character's face rather than focusing on a fun gameplay.

Copying MoH style is one thing, but there is more to it, than just graphics. It's probably my nostalgia, but below 30 fps action, limited FoV, movement, sounds, animations, music and many more that create general MoH experience. Even Allied Assault and Frontline still have it despite improved graphics and stuff. Since you use MoH as inspiration, I guess it would be nice to go a little above it and add more interaction with game world... if you consider to make semi-open world game. If you will keep linear style with objective to complete, then the best thing to do is add some hidden objectives that will affect current or future missions. In the end it's up to you to decide what you want to do, but as long as it goes even a little above your source of inspiration, it should be successful.
@lukabrasi001

@@Deimos_Fresh as of right now, the plans for the missions structure are identical to medal of honor. that is 3-5 levels per chapter. I am looking into some level randomization however, like having two or three routes on a few levels like a door being locked in one play and open in the other. or, go the timesplitters route and open up the levels as the difficulty goes up. it's still all plans for the future, we'll see what it brings

Really cool project. I did an analysis on the sound-design of the first Medal of Honor a few years ago, it was made by the same dude that nowadays works in Apex Legends. He likes to add some really cool tonal elements to his sound-design which is part of what makes the sounds effects from these games so memorable. The mp40 is a great example, the way it jumps up and down in pitch is not random. Maybe this can help you to replicate his style :)
@lukabrasi001

I've actually did some reasearch on my own through this, and coincidentally, i am a chronic apex player so the sounds of apex really hit home. I've limited myself to use old sound effect libraries that sound "retro" enough so the audio doesn't feel disconnected from what's on screen and it's been working so far i'd say

6:20 how can you say that? Plus, even the BF franchise, which has always been more famous and has always sold more, is on life support. I'd suggest you to be caution about this project.. I loved Medal of Honor but a lot of us just moved on. I still remember vividly the last two MoH, I still remember Voodoo (at the time was my favorite in the Campaign) but I couldn't care less these days. I'm all-in for the positivity but please, ask always yourself "is this going somewhere?". It's easy for random people on the internet to be supportive and positive, but in the end, how many people would actually buy the game? I hate the harsh reality but caution. Love you and don't give up on your dreams just caution pt.3

well, I am making a game here that I myself would love to play. games like Agent 64 exist which solely exist because of nostalgia towards goldeneye 64 and perfect dark. Since I never had Nintendo 64 or something, for me 007 games never were that important. But Medal of Honor changed my perspective on FPS games when I still was a kid and thought that Doom and Duke Nukem 3D were realistic - then comes in Medal of Honor with features that aren't even today all that present - like the fact that you could shoot helmets of the soldiers' heads and they would react to that realistically. Or the fact that because you were doing covert operations, you had to learn to be careful and move effectively in the night. Or the fact that you could walk in the house and it looked like you actually walked into real house and not like in Doom where you walk inside just another generic room. Also weapon sounds and music were incredible for the time. So I hope that you will find strength to keep up with the project and we will see proper love for the series that EA is clearly lacking

C96 Mauser model looks like a word view model in a modern ww2 fps and the fact you use closest instead of linear makes the texture look really sharp.
