I now only use dried yeast, it’s just more reliable in my setup and choice has improved so much

Yeah I’d agree in the last few years the selection of dried yeast strains has improved dramatically

Great video! Good info. I predominantly use dry yeast but every so often I will use liquid depending on what I a trying to make. One little thing tho, any way to scrub out the background noise? Don't know if it was music or just noise but it was very hard to focus

The wind was blowing a storm that day outside the brewery and given our location it wasn’t possible to avoid on this occasion

@@Geterbrewed I get that. Where I live in the western US we get a solid 2 months of wind free weather. It actually feels odd when the wind ISN'T blowing at 20 knots

I used to only use liquid yeast. I then found dried yeast to be more consistent of a product and also I can stock up on dried yeast and have it available for whenever I want to make whatever type of beer, but liquid yeast could have gone off by then.

Yeah we always keep a few extra packs of dried yeast in the fridge at home too for that reason

I only use dried yeast, the major thing that stops me from using liquid yeasts is the shelf life and the cost compared to dried.

Yeah always handy to have a few packets of dried yeast on hand as the shelf life is awesome , the new white labs format seems to be pushing out the viability and shelf life which is a move in the right direction
