Yes, I have played all the colors. The best I have found is the bright red, but I prefer the matte finish, because I like a softer feel. My favorite to-date are the matte red Callaway Superhot Bold. They are the easiest to see in the air and on the fairway, and most definitely in the rough. Basically, unless I put it in the drink, or in a yard, it's almost impossible to lose. And that is why I play them, along with the fact that I love the feel off the club, and especially with my wedges. Thanks so much for all the brilliant content over the years; you're second-to-none, sir. :)

It's also to distinguish my yellow balls from my various playing partner's balls. In Australia, the crows are a huge issue and for some reason love the yellow balls. I was playing them for a while and loved them for all the reasons you highlighted in the video, I found them much easier to see even on sunny days, and I could always tell which one was mine right away. Crows took 3 balls over 2 holes one day though, and that was the last time I used them.

I've tried all sorts of colours for balls... In winter and dark-ish conditions, the yellow is the unambiguous champion. Easy to see in the sky, on the fairway, even in the rough. When it's really sunny and the sun is rather oblique (evenings or early mornings) the yellow ball can disappear on the ground in one direction. Then you look back and again it pops out and you wonder why you didn't see it. The white balls are more "uniformly averagely visible". Never great, never really bad. Only real negative is that once dirty they're hard to spot on the fairway or rough, while the yellow balls stay just as visible when a little dirty.

Never used one in the sun so I will be very interested to see your results. I would like to see you and Coach using yellow on a sunny tour vlog. I've been playing with Vision golf balls now for about 3 years. They have a yellow ball called the Super Yellow UV. It is eye-wateringly bright. Even brighter than that Titleist. I usually get half a dozen when I buy a gift pack from the company and hand them straight to my mate because I just can't play with them, even wearing sunglasses. I do however use their patterned balls, they are like the TruVis but have different patterns like flowers, spots and even a macaroon. Makes it real easy to find my ball and I've never had a problem with someone else thinking that it's theirs! Great test Mark, particularly enjoyed you talking with people on the course, really adds a lots of value to these tests in my opinion.

After all, any golf ball is hard to see when the course is covered with leaves. However, the yellow are always much easier to see as you approach your shot (when it is laying on the ground). As I said above, if your eyesight is good, then it is not that much different. If your eyesight is less good, then, yellow is way better. Under any conditions, yellow is better; sometimes a lot better! Because of tradition or whatever, guys pick white; but, yellow is much easier to see whether it is in the air or on the ground; no matter the condition.

My regular playing partner uses a yellow ball and I tend to stick with white. I can usually see both but find the yellow easier in the air on cloudy days and the white easier on clear, sunny days. On the grounds the yellow is really hard to spot in leaves in autumn and if there are any signifiant number of flowers around the ball. Those three guys you asked about golf balls were legends - get them singed up for a regular slot!!

There's a reason why the yellow is so much more visible is because it's fluorescent. The dye/paint (Not sure what they use) color absorbs the light and gives it a glowy cast. I have some flourescent yellow ones too and do think the yellow looks slightly bigger. Maybe because they give off that slight cast in light? I have 20/15 eyes so I don't think it has to do with clarity of vision. So it must be some sort of optical illusion depending on one's vision since everyone sees colors differently. As a matter of fact, the illusion of being a bit bigger is a part of why Callaway made the Chromesoft Truvis markings. If you checked out one of their black/yellow Truvis, they would likely seem absolutely massive even though they are still the same size, lol! Edit: Oh, I forgot to mention, I'll likely go with the white as the premium balls rarely seem to be made in yellow and I like my spinny urethane. I think that is primarily why you'll see pros on TV play white. But if I'd get premium balls in yellow I'd be quite happy to play using them over white as I love that popping yellow color.

I’ve used all the colors! And have asked every ball manufacture to make their best ball in a color! I’ve played truvis, yellow, orange, Matt red, pink. The yellow I don’t think is harder to see in sunlight but the Matt red is harder to see for sure, and my playing partner can’t see the red ball at all. I thought the easiest ball to see was the Volvik pink ball. It stands out in the trees, water, etc. and you don’t lose it in sunlight. It was super easy to spot, by far the best color. The color yellow makes a difference some companies have a faint yellow and looks horrible (Bridgestone) Nike had the best yellow with the volt and Callaway yellow is probably the best out there now. I can honestly say I score better with a yellow ball, the short game is better for me. I haven’t played Titleist ones. Thanks for video

Playing the Vice Pro Neon Lime at the moment: Visibly it may be too green (so not a great contrast from grass) but it does stand out quite well nonetheless. I think their white balls seem larger for some reason. The Neon Lime seems to discolour very quickly though and is mostly dark (the black underneath comes through the paint) after 3 rounds with the same ball. It was doing this after 9 holes too. The core is still impressive though after 3 rounds and was consistently flying further than a new Chrome soft (about 5-10 yards with my driver with no run)!

As a recent subscriber, I am catching up with your videos. I have used both yellow and white balls. I think it is easier to see the yellow ball on cloudy days. However, when there are leaves on the course in the fall, the yellow blends in with them. White is easier to find in that case. Tennis pros used to play only white, but now it’s more common for them to be playing with yellow balls. The TaylorMade TP5, with its pattern, appears larger and easier to strike.

I play Titleist DT TruSoft balls and definitely find the yellow balls easier to see, both in the air and on the ground. They are much better to see in flight in grey conditions and even in bright conditions down here in Oz I still find them easy to track through the air. One reason I like the TruSoft (apart from price) is that both the white and yellow versions are brighter than many other balls and with my dodgy eyes this helps me see them better than other balls. The only time I prefer to use the white version is in autumn when there are a lot of yellow leaves on the ground. Another reason I like using yellow balls is that in my social playing group some members are not too good at remembering what sort of ball they are playing on any particular hole and having something very distinctive helps avoid "accidents" :)

Yellow balls are fun to play with for sure 👍🏼 with the question of seeing in in the light it is harder and in the video when your inside holding them up the yellow ball is a little bit more blurry as opposed to the white one so just from that alone I would agree with the gentleman who said that the yellow ball is harder to see in brighter light conditions. Agreed - crows in Australia love yellow balls. Yellow balls have a glow/fluorescence cover which then gives them a slight halo effect making them look bigger.

Mark, another cool video. My vision is worse than yours as I cannot see the white ball run out after a drive lands. I have tried different colors but am interested in the Easter Egg approach Coach offered. More research needed with the different high vis spectrum of colors, orange, pink and such. Maybe we can give it a look and get back with you. For now I have decided to go with the yellow Pro V1X, since it is more readily available locally here in Augusta.

I agree the yellow does stand out more but where I'm from, the grass isnt as dark green as you have there. So the yellow balls sometimes disappear in the light green grass and burned patches. great vid.

I think yellow balls look bigger on the ground but i lose sight of them playing into an afternoon / twilight sun when I try to get an after work round of golf in summer. Playing white at the moment and the first hit of Callaway's new Magna ball this weekend to see what help it might give me with my fairway woods and long irons.
