The 12 string guitar makes the mood for this song. Got my Yamaha 12 out and it still sounds great.

More 12 String stuff please! Just picked up the Squier Paranormal 12string Jazzmaster so anything Tom Petty, Boston, Cinderella, or really any power ballad is gonna be watched ad nauseum by me!

Thanks and well done for doing this, especially that solo bit. So simple but sounds so utterly brilliant! Mike Campbell is so very underrated, some many classic riffs he came up with and always serving the song, I don’t think he gets the credit he deserves. Please do more stuff from Full Moon Fever and Tom Petty. Also, get a Rickenbacker for your collection.

Technically isn’t the second chord in the verse a D7/F#?

I'm curious about the Bell PA Amp Head behind you. I have one as well, yours looks to have another control knob than mine. I just got done rebuilding mine and it's an awesome sounding amp. Great lesson as always!

.. only thing I haven't got in my guitar armoury , is a twelve string . All these cool songs you've been doing , makes realise I need one ,only thing is I have to justify it to the Mrs 😂

If you do Nashville stringing/tuning on an acoustic you can double track acoustic with a regular one to simulate the 12 string sound. That's what I do :) since I can't justify owning one.

Just discovered your channel. I really like your format as to compared to many others. Our band just started to cover this song so thank you so much for explaining the chord shapes, it would have taken me a long time to get these right, especially the funky D w/an F#. and I would never have been able to get the solo right ( i always have trouble deciphering solos with open strings). Thanks again!
