There are many, many good tracks from J&V. They made four albums together between the late seventies and early nineties. Some truly beautiful and majestic stuff to be found on those albums. For me, their real masterpiece is the 22 minute "Horizon", off their _Private Collection_ album. Great reaction, my friend. Keep it up! 😄

Jon and Vangelis are long time good friends and this is a great song. From time to time they did work together. Jon even asked Vangelis to join Yes but Vangelis likes to work solo. That most likely worked out the best way as Jon can be very demanding rather like Vangelis and those two in the same band would most likely cause a lot of conflict. So they work this lose help each other from time to time relationship. But the voice of Jon Anderson is so great and unique.

Jon had left Yes around '79 & teamed up with film score composer & solo keyboard wizard Vangelis. Vangelis previously auditioned for Yes back in '73 following the departure of Rick Wakeman, it didn't quite work out and they hired Patrick Moraz for the Relayer album. 6 years later they got together & created the brilliant album "Short Stories". I recommend the opening track "Curious Electric" & tracks 2 & 3 which segway into each other "Each & everyday" and "Birdsong" , cheers

Great that you listened to a Jon & Vangelis song. They are heard too seldom here on the channels and I love all their albums. Although "I'll Find My Way Home" isn't one of my top 10 favorite songs by them. I prefer songs like "Far Away In Baagad/Love Is", "Play Within A Play" or "Deborah". My favorite song is "Horizon". As for Anderson, you have to watch "Yes Live at the Apollo 2018" when you get a chance. (Yes-ARW are Anderson, Rabin, Wakeman, + Lee Pomeroy (bass) and Lou Molino III (drums)). Check out "And You And I", "Heart Of The Sunrise" or better yet, the whole concert. Anderson is 74 years old and sings "like a young god" ;-)

Vangelis couldn't write music, he had a lady writing as he composed his music. He also never had a music lesson. He, in my opinion was the best musician the world has ever seen. There is a 2 hour documentary about his life where he explains how he started playing music and it's shows the lady writing his music as he's playing.. Well worth a watch.

I know you know about the band Three Dog Night....well something sad has happened.....Yesterday...the world lost a brilliant talent in the producer, engineer and musician Richie Podolor. Richie was an amazing musical guide for Three Dog Night from its very first record at MCA and he continued producing for us right on through to our new album, that is just about to be released. Despite his low-key demeanor, Richie was a powerhouse; beginning in the 1960’s he worked as a producer, engineer, musician, composer and arranger for countless artists including the Monkees, the Turtles, the Electric Prunes, the Grateful Dead, Donovan, the Dillards, Chris Hillman, and Black Oak Arkansas, as well as Steppenwolf for whom Richie engineered their huge hits “Born to be Wild” and “Magic Carpet Ride”. Scores of artists, songwriters, producers and engineers have been impacted by Richie’s ideas and techniques. He was a great musician and a dear friend. Richie Podolor will be missed even as his talent still rests in the music and musicians that he touched......please react to the audio version "Woman" by Three Dog Night from their "It Ain't Easy" album.

Beautiful! ❤ May I suggest another Jon/Vangelis collab? An album by Vangelis called Heaven and Hell. Jon sings a song called So Long Ago, So Clear. I promise you will love it. I think he sings other parts in the album but I haven’t heard it in a while.

Vangelis (hard g) is an electronic music master, began piano at 4. Largely self-taught, doesn’t read music, improvises a lot of music on the spot. Absolute genius. “Chariots of Fire” earned him an Oscar, he should’ve got one for “Blade Runner” if it were nominated. He recorded more than 4 hours of music for Blade Runner, much of it bootlegged. There’s a reasonable guess that 90% of his music has never been released. He’s that prolific.

Jon Anderson is a genius. He made 4 albums with Vangelis (he did the theme song for the olympics). From them I'd suggest State Of Independance (or better yet the live version Jon did later with Todmobile kzitem.info/news/bejne/mWapsmedn4CrZI4 . Or The mayflower, Friends of Mr. Cairo, Horizon. And Jon did a million amazing songs (mixed in with some clunkers and mediocre stuff) on his own and with a lot of other people.

You should check out "Cage of Freedom" by Jon Anderson and Georgio Moroder (Producer). Moroder BTW is a legend of the highest order in the synth world and has composed some of the most iconic music in it's genre, including many themes to movies. His Scarface intro is incredible. And he's still going well into his 70's! Worth a look into.

All of their albums are good. This song comes from "The Friends of Mr. Cairo" album which is the most pop-oriented of the albums. For me, their best collaboration is "Private Collection". I particularly like Jon's lyric writing on these albums. Unfortunately, Vangelis passed away yesterday. He was an amazing keyboardist with many solo works. He nearly joined Yes but his personality did not work with the group. Patrick Moraz ran into similar issues.
